Must have for forensics
What do you like best about the product?
Axiom has the ability to process any digital evidence I throw at it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Over time axiom has gained functionality that I wanted and is now a full featured tool

All in one solution for computer forensics, cell phone collections, and cloud collections

Good product and excellent customer support.
What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface, broad market support means that you can find answers to most questions very quickly. I like the improved data acquisition interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is a little high for acceptance by smaller firms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Annual training pass is allowing us to obtain certification at an excellent price.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of the demo program. Work with your rep to identify the best product for your needs.

The tool is functional and user friendly.

Processing is slow and fails frequently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Performing remote collections of endpoints and creating an easy to use investigation/forensics platform.

What do you like best about the product?
We use Magnet Axiom and find it helpful and resourceful in acquiring evidence from phones and computers. It's interface is good at quickly presenting found artifacts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too many false positives and tech support delays. And the report styles are not preferred over other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For mobile forensics, I find their tool works well with acquiring/parsing a lot of 3rd party chat apps (both encrpyted and not)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use this tool in compliment with another forensic tool. Good as primary tool or as validating tool.

What do you like best about the product?
Their support is quite responsive. When we were attempting to get a trial done to see if the software and the licensing server will work in our environment, the team was quick to respond to any issues we encountered and answered any questions we had.
What do you dislike about the product?
This isn't a dislike, but learning about the software itself and how it operates is always a little troublesome at first, but once we figure it out, we know this will be a very useful tool in our curriculum.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Magnet Forensics is allowing us to implement more mobile forensic and acquisition curriculum into our existing curriculum and gives our students another tool that they will be using in the real world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask for a trial run, it doesn't hurt to ask.
I would strongly recommend it.

Cannot assign resources to the software in order to speed up processing

For everyday forensics it is the best choice. For advanced forensics I would try other solutions as well

I like how Magnet interfaces with other software such as passware etc to provide clear, concise and quick views of discovered artifacts.

It's a little expensive but worthwhile if your organisation can afford it

I like that Magnet Axiom provides the ability to process computers, phones and cloud data in one software.

The data carving options for computers don't seem as advanced as other software products I have used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The portable case feature is very helpful in allowing investigators to review the device data at times. This frees up my time to work through other devices.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the support it has for various apps. I like to be able to quickly navigate from the artifacts, registry, and file-system view. Tagging is really simple with this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see a few features added. I would like to be able to navigate to the file-system view and highlight a certain pathway and review the artifacts in a thumbnail view. This would be extremely helpful in child exploitation cases. I would also like to see a preview feature at some point where we can add a device and simply review the evidence before processing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Magnet has been able to see certain file systems other tools have not. I have also been able to recover unallocated data that some other tools may not have.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Purchase outrider as well as Axiom if it is within the budget to do so.
Magnet Forensics is constantly improving tools and the customer service is best in industry.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Magnet is a one-stop-shop for all forensic needs. I can purchase cloud tools, computer forensic tools, report management systems as well as other essential tools from one vendor.
What do you dislike about the product?
The costs have increased each year over the last couple years. This has made it more difficult in planning budgets. I understand the need for increasing costs, it would just be helpful to know they are coming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Magnet is offering a user friendly forensic tool at a competitive price point. I am able to bring in newer examiners and train them in Magnet products in a much shorter period of time.
