A Reliable Tool for Automating Document Generation in Salesforce
What do you like best about the product?
Conga Composer has saved me a lot of drudgery work in terms of producing documents directly out of Salesforce. Quotes, invoices, contracts, or even special reports, you name it, I can generate beautiful-looking documents in a couple of clicks. Integration is seamless, and I appreciate how you can make nearly any field out of Salesforce get mapped into your templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is certainly there, particularly if you're attempting to do sophisticated logic or draw in information from multiple related records. The UI looks old-fashioned, and occasionally you'll have to use trial and error in order to get things working just so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, creating and editing documents was prone to so many errors. Doing those tasks manually is a lot of work and very time-consuming. Now, with the collaboration of Conga, I am able to generate any form including memos automatically with one click on Salesforce which reduces errors and improves turnaround time. This Conga feature is beneficial for accuracy and therefore enhances productivity.

when used in high volume issues start to appear, error messages are poor

it takes all data from salesforce and incorporates it into a document which conga then sends out via batch

What do you like best about the product?
Conga Composer helps us to easily generate documents with attached images to send to our client. Conga Sign, similarly, makes it easy for us to format and send documents requiring a signature.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formatting of documents with merge fields can be a bit tricky and require some trial and error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Composer pulls images and text from different Salesforce objects and combines them into an easy to read document for our customers.

Merge syntax can be difficult to understand and master

Our work product for our customers is a PDF, composer allows us to generate standardized documents with dynamic details.

Having to update templates outside of Conga and Salesforce, then upload to each org.

Keeping the user inside of Salesforce to generate the document and use Salesforce data.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to build a template once you know the JSON that is needed for the merge fields. Documents generate pretty quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs error handling when designing the template. Need to be able to add pictures into a richtext field and then be able to print the picture on the document. Right now it puts just a picture icon. Better way to handle special characters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making all of our data captured as data and moving it into nice documents to deliver to the customer.

Improving processing time for approvals and proposal response.

I love the user group for Composer! I learn so much and have so many valuable people to work with.

The documentation could use more short videos demoing how to do certain things.
