Seamless Cloud Cost Optimization with CAST AI
What do you like best about the product?
CAST AI has delivered immediate cost savings and simplified our Kubernetes management. The support team was exceptional during the integration process, ensuring a seamless and successful integration into our existing infrastructure. The security dashboard provides a lot of insightful info; yet I need to enable it in my clusters.
The good thing is that even when we're using CAST AI, we can still have the backup option of using the regular cluster-autoscaler.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Terraform documentation lacks details on how to configure the different components; but the support team is there to help you out. Also, it takes time to get used to how to troubleshoot errors you might face during the setup.

A Kubernetes automation platform that helped us save on the cloud using Spot instances
What do you like best about the product?
-the interface is fairly clear and intelligible. The main options are available in the interface, making it easy to use the product.
- really effective for optimising costs, particularly with the use of Spots and the integration of advanced features (spot fail back, mixed instance type, etc.)

What do you dislike about the product?
-The gains shown are not based on actual Azure costs, so they are slightly different.
-Quota management could be improved. You discover that your quotas are not good after rebalancing. It would be smart to warn you beforehand. This could be done easily with IAM read permissions on the Quota part.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a reliable, dedicated solution for optimising workloads on AKS clusters. Cast doesn't spread itself too thinly over a host of features, but concentrates on optimisation (gain + security) and does it quite well.
We didn't want to spend a lot of time administering AKS clusters in the optimisation part.
We also wanted to know quite precisely how the costs were distributed within the clusters on different projects.
Instead of developing processes or solutions ourselves, we rely on expertise and premium support. Which is a considerable gain for us

Excellent free and paid tiers providing quick value
What do you like best about the product?
Cast AI gives immediate insights into the costs of Kubernetes when GCP provides murky overviews. This gave me a clear action plan on how to help reduce the cost of compute on GCP, both using cast.ai autoscaling features and basic Kubernetes features.
The security platform was helpful in detecting critical errors and helping with a SOC2 audit.

What do you dislike about the product?
The setup to connect a cluster using helm and not just the automated script would be helpful for clients managing their Kubernetes clusters with tools like Helm and argo-cd.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cast.ai's autoscaler is more feature-rich and customizable than GKE's autoscaler. This allowed for more rapid scaling up and down for more cost savings.
Cloud cost management helped me understand the per-cluster cost and which cluster to target first based on overall cost and over-provisioning.

What do you like best about the product?
The bes feature about CAST AI is the way the present the information the views are really intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We can not see the savings that we currently have.

CAST AI is giving us the actual costs that we have currently in all our clusters.

A Kubernetes scheduling tool that we were missing
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of installation and use of the platform. In about 20 minutes you have your Kubernetes nodes managed by cast.ai. It was really quick and easy to set up.
The configuration of the different node types is also very convenient and the cost tracking is very powerful.

What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, nothing. The product corresponded totally to our needs and expectations. But if we really want to find something to complain about, we could talk about the price. The pricing per CPU can be disadvantageous in some cluster configurations I think. In our case, we managed to negotiate a fixed price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cast.ai allows us to easily track the cost of our clusters and the various Kubernetes applications and namespaces. And in terms of node scheduling it allows us to have Kubernetes nodes faster and better balanced than the basic scheduling of our Cloud provider. Scheduling is the feature that interested us the most, especially for setting up spot nodes (reduced rates) very easily.
Cast AI is one of the best in the field when it comes to bin packing on kubernetes
What do you like best about the product?
Highly technical team, they listen to our problems and their product allows for a lot of granularity and control.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lot of helm chart setups to get the configurations that we need. They caused reliability issues which says that they need to mature a bit more, but are getting there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They help us bin pack, maximize spot instances
Helped us optimize AWS Cloud Spend
What do you like best about the product?
We were able to reduce our AWS cloud spend by almost 40%. This has taken a considerable amount of spend from a DevOps teams perspective. I would highly recommend CAST AI to other SaaS platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took a little bit of initial time in the Kubernetes configuration but it was worth. Seems to be all good as of now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- On a high volume sign up days, our systems were getting slow at times and other times, there was a spike in CPU usage resulting into high monthly cloud costs. Our systems were not optimized for spend.
Better tool for cost optimisation and automation
What do you like best about the product?
It's an AI driven, multi-cloud-supported platform for cost optimisation and automation, which gives you cost breakdown and suggests you different ways to automate the resource creation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure, we haven't tried this in on-prem so far. It would be great if it supports VMware or any other hypervisor related platforms, although Kubernetes support is more than enough for our requirement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it's helping us to reducing the cost. i would say it cuts your cloud bills in half.

What do you like best about the product?
Cast ai gives you the feasibility to check and improve cost at a federated or single cluster, it has the capability to automate cost-effectiveness based on human parameters.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well till date i didn't find anything of dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cast ai helped us to evaluate the cost of each resource based on which we were able to generate a much more detailed report in our financial audit.
