Prevents malicious attacks from mails

What is our primary use case?

We use Sophos Central for security. 

How has it helped my organization?

We used to get malicious attacks from mail before using the solution. 

What is most valuable?

Sophos Central helps us against intrusions and security. 

What needs improvement?

The program slows down when you try to control or visualize multiple systems. 

What other advice do I have?

I rate the product an eight out of ten.

A highly scalable and stable solution that enables users to manage and monitor firewalls

What is our primary use case?

My clients have 120 firewalls. They are all on Sophos Central. The tool can be used for firewall management.

What is most valuable?

I appreciate the fact that all my firewalls are in Sophos Central. Some of our customers do not have public static IPs. They're on DHCP through service providers, and I can manage and monitor my firewalls through it. It makes my life a lot easier. The tool enables me to see the security of my customers’ PCs at a glance.

What needs improvement?

The product must be made a little bit quicker. It sometimes takes me up to three to five minutes just to log in and see my dashboard. Once we’re in, it’s alright. The initial login is time-consuming.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for more than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool is very, very stable. We have had no issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool is very, very scalable. Our customers are medium to enterprise-level businesses.

How are customer service and support?

We had a small language barrier with the support staff. The call center is in India. They have great knowledge, but they have very heavy accents. A lot of times, we struggle to understand what they are saying. Normally, I ask them to put it in an email to me and do my research about everything.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have worked with Symantec. Broadcom and Veritas bought it. However, none of these solutions are anywhere near Sophos. When I used Symantec, I struggled to log in to the enterprise console in the cloud. Symantec used cookies to authenticate my browser.

Once, the cookies were changed and were not updated on my side. So, I had to re-authenticate and run through the whole process again to find the latest version of the software and download it. I had to physically log a support call just for them to point me in the correct direction of where I could download the latest software. It became a very tedious and time-consuming operation every single time I had to do an update.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is very easy to install. One person can install the product in about five minutes. When I deploy the tool, I copy the initial setup file onto my server. I go through all the PCs and click on the setup. Upgrades and version updates are automatic. I don't have to worry about anything. When there's an alert on my email, I log in to Sophos Central and do some checks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool is a little more expensive than other solutions. However, we get more value for money from Sophos. We pay an annual license fee for the tool. The monthly licensing option is more expensive than the annual license.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend the solution to others. Anyone who wants to do a trial with Sophos can engage with the software support people. The team will help do a case study, which will help convince the management to choose the product. Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

Maximize the security and threat visibility

What do you like best about the product?
Well-organized and Easy to use and access and Manage the Risk and threat as well as to report and dashboard are making efficient for better visibility and security and help to be aware and alert for critical threats and license management.
Customer Support and User Community help to identify the new risks and are very easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Slow to operate and perform, Some information and details are much limited
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Threat monitoring and management, Central point response, Reporting, and new threats with graphic presentation by category and risk factor summarization making efficient for security persons.

Fully secure, easy to manage and deploy

What do you like best about the product?
It is a tool that provides total security, in addition to the fact that in the client stations they are only manulable with a unique code taken from the administrator
What do you dislike about the product?
There are modules that you can add and they are very useful but you must pay for each one
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The security to the company's machines is covered with Sophos, DLP issues among others

Easy to use for managing email

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can add emails to a safe senders list so they don't go into a spam folder- it is great for managing all emails and making decisions on how to store
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it will not remember that I have authorized a sender and will hold it. I would like to see them make a change to this so when I add an approval it sticks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped with the amount of spam/junk email coming into my mail email account. Having emails that are uncertain going into Sophos Central gives me the opportunity to add approved senders and block those I don't want/need to see.

Sophos for your Business

What do you like best about the product?
Sophos is by far the most in depth software that I have used. Very little learning curve so you can hit the ground running after deployment. Alerts generated have tons of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had an issue where the computers fell out of touch, and required us to reinstall the client on them. Sadly, we lost some of the tamper protection codes so we had to reformat those computers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to have a more in depth view of our network as well as quarantine and respond to alerts in a timely manner. You can see both past and present issues with a user or a desktop.

What do you like best about the product?
centralised control for switch, firewall, wifi, cloud optics, and server and endpoint protection.support the integration of 2nd factor authentication with Azure identity.Encourage the use of sub-estates, which enable division of licence usage and management based on sub-organization.Rich dashboard and status reporting.support message relay servers and endpoint third-party integration for non-internet exposed servers and Office 365 customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no on-premises version of it; it is exclusively a cloud service. Strict security regulations, limited customisation options in some policies It is incompatible with AIX Unix Server Protection. 4-Arabic language is not supported by the interface
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The user interface is excellent, and Pro services setup was simple and quick. Comparatively quickly to our prior vendor, we were able to set up DKIM, DMARC, and end-to-end encryption. Furthermore, banners are now included in our email messages to inform us that an email is external and to display trusted and dubious emails. Furthermore, because of our smart hosting through Sophos, the advertisements are removed when sending a reply. Having the ability to recognise when links in emails have been altered and scanned when clicked is also a major value addition.

What do you like best about the product?
The General user interface is very use friendly

It can be tricky if you're new to it, but Sophos give great training videos
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps the computer safe, with a really easy-to-use layout so you can find your way to where you need to be. however if you do struggle then Sophos support is great at helping you figure it out and the training video's are really simple to follow.
