Optimizing Financial Performance Through Scalable TM1 Development
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is the power and flexibility of TurboIntegrator and Rules for creating custom, automated solutions. TM1 gives me full control to build tailored models that fit the exact needs of the business, and I enjoy how scalable and fast the engine is when handling complex calculations across large datasets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like about TM1 is the lack of modern development tools and debugging support. Developing in TurboIntegrator can feel outdated, with limited syntax highlighting, version control, or error tracing. This makes maintaining and troubleshooting code more time-consuming than it should be, especially in larger, more complex applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves critical problems related to data integration, automation, and performance in planning and reporting processes. It allows me to centralize data from multiple sources, automate repetitive tasks, and deliver fast, real-time calculations. This helps me streamline system maintenance, reduce manual errors, and ensure that the business has reliable, up-to-date information to support decision-making.
As a Data Analyst it fits perfect in my daily tasks
What do you like best about the product?
As a Data Analyst at Aegea, what I appreciate most about working with IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is the flexibility and speed it offers for handling complex data models. TM1 allows me to build dynamic cubes and automate processes, which helps me generate accurate forecasts and performance reports quickly. It’s especially valuable in our environment where financial planning and operational efficiency are critical.
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity of managing and debugging TurboIntegrator processes and rules. Sometimes, even small changes require deep technical knowledge and careful testing. Also, the user interface, especially in TM1 Web, can feel outdated and less intuitive compared to more modern planning tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me solve several key problems, especially around data consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting. It allows me to integrate data from multiple sources into a single, centralized model, making it easier to analyze performance and support decision-making. This benefits me by saving time, reducing manual work, and increasing the accuracy and consistency of the reports I deliver to the business.
The best financial planning tool
What do you like best about the product?
As a senior FP&A analyst, what I like most about IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is its real-time calculation engine, flexibility to model complex scenarios, and the ability to handle large volumes of multidimensional data efficiently. It streamlines forecasting, budgeting, and reporting with high speed and accuracy.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don’t like about IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) is the steep learning curve for new users, the sometimes unintuitive interface, and the complexity of maintaining TI processes and rules. It can also be challenging to debug errors or manage large rule sets without strong technical knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manual process reduction
Elimination of data silos
Increased planning agility
Centralized version control
Enhanced analytical insights
