Planning Analytics Workspace - High Adoption
What do you like best about the product?
Moving from TM1 Websheets to PAW has been a tremendous success. We have been using our existing TM1 websheets for over 5 years and while they were sufficient for our needs, we had many users asking about new functionality or enhancements over time. With PAW, we have been able to transform the user experience...gaining speed and functionality we have not seen before. Transitioning our websheets was relatively quick and adoption was extremely high. Within 30 min we had our users comfortable with the new process.
What do you dislike about the product?
As like most new applications, there are some features which are not currently available (but on the IBM roadmap). IBM has been extremely helpful in guiding us to "workarounds" for the time being which in which are not transparent to the end users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are moving past traditional numeric data input sheets to supplementing with visualizations in the same screen. This allows users to quickly see the impact of input as they are planning their numbers. In addition, the ad hoc capabilities have been useful for our power users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product with features you can not find with other systems.
TM1 Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of which reports can be created
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the static nature of subsets. If a new GL account is added others might not include that GL if they had previously created a subset prior to that addition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
budgeting and forecasting is the problem we are solving. we have discovered efficiency over organic homegrown Excel budgeting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compatibility with Google sheets

Workflow should be improved to actually send notifications to the next approver etc.

Greater user acceptance - teams have become much more efficient and productive.

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely fast slicing and dicing data. Can create complex applications and workflows quickly and easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Could have better integration with Cognos Analytics

Roll up over 4000 Cost Centers and 2500 Profit Centers across the globe.

Planning Analytics is a better experience than Tm1 v10 but still not my favorite solution

I like the new interfaces, the better self service tools, the hierarchy management improvements and flexibility

The back end modeling tools (architect) still haven't been modernized and still need to be used

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of slicing and dicing dimensions in cubes

Feeders and skipchecks are pretty cumbersome to unhderstand at this point

I really like the flexibility of the tool. Makes it easy to use and develop.

Lack of resources. It would be nice if there was more resources available.

What do you like best about the product?
Speed of query results. Processing power and result speed is the best factor in tm1.

Usage for consumers could be better. The interface isn't easy to figure out unless given a proper introduction and course.

The speed of processing and returning the desired data is the biggest benefit
A powerful and ever evolving technology
What do you like best about the product?
IBM is consistently looking for feedback and introducing new features to provide a better user experience and improve the server stability
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately as somewhat of a corner case (using a very large distributed Linux setup) we do end up with multiple stability issues leading to server crashes throughout the year. These issues are often hard to track down and resolve without large upgrade or configuration efforts which consume a large amount of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use PA to solve our Finance and reporting needs.
