DB2 is a reliable database
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about DB2 is knowing that I've been using a database for over 20 years that is 100% supported and I'll be able to read the same data in 20 years without having to worry about changing technologies
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a database that has few DBA specialists but that can be solved by training them. It could also have more data migration tools from other database vendors to DB2.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My main use is for storing business rules and for storing data for risk management. These are environments with databases that are more than 20 years old, backed up, do not consume a lot of resources and serve many users.
IBM Db2 is flexible "Relational Database Management System" and easy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
IBM Db2 is a stable platform and Integrated Relational Database Management System that leverages high-performance, virtualization, and energy efficiency features. Also, it is supported by different media.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little bit more complex for a beginner rather than this, I don't have much, but I love IBM Db2. It helps to store, analyze and retrieve the data efficiencly. It extended with Object oriented features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Db2 will make our work easy and quick, increasing productivity; connectivity with DB is also easy, and the more helpful thing is DB2 is extended with the support of Object Oriented features and nonrelational structures with XML.
A tried and tested workhorse of a database, with a proven track record
What do you like best about the product?
It's ease of use, administration, security, resilience, performance, stability, scalability, availability.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not used enough! It's well-respected, but could do with more press!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transaction processing, data warehousing.
Solid product - Compatible with SQL and all SQL products. FTP Friendly.
What do you like best about the product?
Long following with IBM AS400. Has been implemented in other platforms. The direct access, and relational database layout. The use of "Members" is specific to IBM.
What do you dislike about the product?
Use of Memebers makes it difficult to query with Basic SQL. However, the platform on an IBM AS400 does have built in SQL. Not all of the standard SQL options are available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Interface with other databases such as MySQL on Azure Platform. Cross warehouse sync with IBM SAN sync.
The database is a direct access, however, the issue becomes with Members and those accessing with SQL that have never seen a Member based DBASe.

Highly Available & Safe Storage DB
What do you like best about the product?
It has a standard SQL engine to write queries once and reuse across multiple platforms, and it provides high availability while providing extended computing and storage on the managed cloud. It allows database partitioning to manage computations and parallel processing of queries efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if we could have support to have a native UI tool to view data and execute queries. The query performance might be slow sometimes for long-running processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use DB2 to store and process transactional and mission critical data. It offers a higher level of security by default, making it a better choice for applications handling sensitive information processing.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's best to be used with other warehouses like teradata and snowflake
A reliable and ever improving RDBMS database
What do you like best about the product?
Enterprise level security with highly granular access control levels can be acheived using db2. It's fast and reliable and can Scale to really large data. Excellent query optimizer is powering db2.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the main disadvantages is high licensing cost. Along with that we noticed that db2 webconsole is not stable and crashes often. Debugging with db2 logs can be improved a lot as they are not verbose enough. There is a lot of scope in improvement of documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to solve requirement of highly scalable transactional database also to serve as data warehouse. Analytics were much faster with consistent latency. Stored procedures were leveraged for our business usecase
