Great Support

  • March 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great documentation and support.
Reasonable licensing.
Ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like the ability to generate a blank Pdf (and specify number of pages) so content can be added/appended later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to change the document page size and orientation, as well as add additional content to the page(s). The ability to generate content from HTML was a great feature (HTMLStamper). It integrated well with our current tech stack, and support is very helpful and responsive.

Ok PDF software component for .NET, questionable support practices and costs

  • February 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We purchased the Iron Suite of software componets which included IronPDF which we use primarly to convert HTML into PDF documents. The IronPDF software is fairly straight forward to implement and produces PDF output similar to other PDF packages we have used. They support various OS's (Windows and Linux) and various deployment methods including several for the cloud and containers which is particulay useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to pay attention to updates and even minor releases as these can sometimes introduce bugs or change slightly the way PDFs get rendered and therefore the PDF output may not be as expected / not look great as something on the page has changed. If you don't catch this in testing, end users may see a bad result.

Support costs. We have had several issues with renewing annual support and software updates for the Iron Suite we purchased some years back. Despite thinking we were buying a perpetual license with reasonable ongoing annual support costs; Iron Software seem determined to not support their original perpetual license packages and push existing customers on to newer more expensive versions of the product where they have tweaked the definition of the product license. This year they originally sent us a renewal notice for just over twice the cost we paid last year, we renewed but were then told this is a mistake and that we would have to pay almost 10x the cost we paid last year for support. Despite sending a renewal notice out for the lower amount that we purchased they would not honour this. The way we were orignally treated by Iron Support I did not recommend this company however managment did eventually reach out and attempt to resolve the situation amicably so I have updated this review. Going forwards I would recommend as the software does have many good features but I would still be wary of purchasing any software from them where you intend to embed the software either internally or externally in a product which you can’t easily remove and replace with an alternative. If you need certainty perhaps consider purchasing multi-year support upfront. Obviously, no enterprise wants to run out-of-date software with no support and potential vulnerabilities.

Update. IronSoftware managment did eventually reach out and attempt to resolve the situation amicably so I have updated this review.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gneration of PDF documents from HTML / CSS.

What do you like best about the product?
IronPDF is a standout tool for any developer's arsenal, thanks to its simplicity in setup, ease of use, and unparalleled reliability. I've recommended it in every workplace, and it's consistently proven its worth. At my last job, it transformed a 4-day letter generating process into a 2-minute breeze, significantly boosting our productivity and efficiency. If you're looking to automate and streamline your PDF handling processes, IronPDF is the way to go.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is great, the Tier 1 support staff has never been a enjoyable or fast exprience. However the Developer team has been super helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used it to create dynamic data deletion letter. My last job we would send about 300 letters a day. They would manually update each letter with the name of the person. Iron PDF was able to work with our API and data and format PDF's to print.

What do you like best about the product?
- Compatibility across various .NET frameworks ensures a smooth experience for applications, whether new or legacy.

- The HTML to PDF converter stands out, allowing seamless customization of PDFs to meet diverse needs.

- CSS file loading prior to rendering guarantees precision in output, a feature lacking in many alternative libraries.

- Strong features like digital signatures, metadata management, and versatile PDF customization tools elevate functionality.

- Responsive customer support, addressing queries within 24 hours, adds a helpful and functional layer of assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Apart from the payment requirement for production use, some users may find the learning curve steep, especially if they are new to PDF manipulation libraries. The documentation, while comprehensive, could benefit from more beginner-friendly resources.

The Best C# PDF Library Out There

  • September 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I bought the IronPDF a month ago after trying multiple PDF libraries on the market. I want to share some pros and cons with you to help you decide on choosing a better PDF library for your business. Here are some things which I like best:

1- It provides HTML to PDF converter which is great and helps for customizing the PDF.
2- It loads CSS files before starting rendering that gives exactly the expected output. This feature is lacking in other libraries which I test like wkhtmltopdf, asposePDF, etc.
3- I've tested it with multiple .NET frameworks including the latest one and I didn't find any issue. It is fully compatible with all. So, if you are going to use IronPDF in old applications running on old .NET frameworks, you are good to go.
4- It has amazing features like digital signature, metadata, customizing PDFs like add, copy, delete pages and many other necessary PDF customizing tools.
5- The support team is cooperative. I got some queries and they solved them within 24 hours. That's great.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not free for production. You've to pay for using it. Although you can use it for free for development with the IronPDF watermark.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem solved by IronPDF is that it provides a way to customize the PDF very easily. We can annotate, add & remove pages and many other tools. IronPDF makes styling easy for developers using HTML & CSS.
