The Headless CMS for Non Profits
What do you like best about the product?
For us, as a non-profit organisation with limited resources, Strapi offers one of the best solutions on the market when it comes to headless CMS:
- It’s easy to install and configure
- It can be deployed on a PaaS (e.g. Heroku), but even better, we simply use the Strapi Cloud to deploy our instance at an incredible price.
- We retain full control over UI, extensions, data and models
- Maximum flexibility through extensions, i.e. use the HTML editor of your choice
- It is open source
- Excellent documentation - most questions have already been asked and answered
- GraphQL API:
- It’s an extension maintained by the Strapi team
- Since Strapi version 5, the GraphQL API has improved immensely to provide an excellent developer experience.

What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately, there is no built-in HTML editor, forcing us to install one via an extension. The standard editor is using JSON abstract syntax tree (AST) and, if you are running a NextJS instance e.g., you will need an extra package to convert AST to HTML.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We develop new projects on a modern tech stack, such as NextJS. So we rely heavily on a predictable and powerful API. With Strapi, we can decide whether to consume REST or GraphQL—both work well. Editors get a fantastic user experience with components in models, the media manager and the navigation extension for drawing the site/menu structure.
A flexible and powerful kick-start for any project
What do you like best about the product?
It's allowed us to get started very quickly in moving from concept to implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had to find some ways to work around free tier limitations as we are working as a non-profit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're developing a free and open source infrastructure for the development and sharing of teaching material to help build capacity in developing countries.
Looking forward to seeing more features on Strapi
What do you like best about the product?
Overall content management is so great. And the best part is the API services that we are getting out of the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel Strapi 3 Dashboard UI/UX was better than Strapi 4.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving our scalability issue.
Very easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Strapi, it make products management very easy and it's a very ergonomic software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only think I don't really like is that to change the defaults role, you need to have a premium subscription
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Strapi is solving management problems by making them easier to manage
Great, component-based manager
What do you like best about the product?
Wonderful means of coordinating the various components of content for website builds and updates - copy writers contribute, graphic artists contribute, component-builders build, etc....
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to assign roles that minimize risk for various levels of users to do something unintended (like delete a component or page.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing folks with multiple roles and levels of experience to co-manage and collaborate.
Most intuitive CMS system
What do you like best about the product?
Speed of production and the ability to create custom functions easily in NodeJS through its framework. As much as its advertised as a CMS, its much more powerful than that - i've used it for developing an internal HR system for governments, School Websites & LMS Integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered any problems with this application so far.

What do you like best about the product?
Strapi framework is simple to use with very good documentation. It's scalable and has a lot of third-party plugins
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of MongoDB support and limited plugin support
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is used as a backend for the blog site, with good query support users can only ask for particular data which keeps data size low.
Great headless CMS, simple and fully customizable
What do you like best about the product?
Strapi promotes an API-first way of doing web. It delivers a means to build quickly and efficiently a valuable API, which is what you should expect from the modern web.
What do you dislike about the product?
Graphic Design could be a little more colorful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ship fast standard web applications.
Easy to use CMS for non-technical users combined with more than enough power for engineers
What do you like best about the product?
Strapi is built on a solid open source community and is both forward looking (via things like GraphQL) and well-established standards (such as REST). The latest version is also beautiful and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Strapi Cloud has been slow to release. When we initially ran into installation problems and looked into a hosted version, we were disappointed that it was not yet available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Strapi makes it easy to define and use many-to-many data relationships. One of the main problems Strapi has solved for us is providing an easy way for non-technical writers to leverage a complex data model.
Fast, easy to use, looking forward to use it for the next few years.
What do you like best about the product?
This is by far the easiest solution for a headless CMS solution and even better as an API framework to power whatever your needs are.
What do you dislike about the product?
Content editor fields are limited in some cases e.g. date input, document selector
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our students need a well-designed and constantly updated platform to support them along the way of their studies.
