What do you dislike about the product?
Very distributed teams, communication can be a challenge - Slack helps a lot
Poor management that will throw you under the bus in front of others.
The company is missing strategic & ethical leadership at the top, with a small closed door executive team. Employees feel disengaged, burnt out and not respected, with only the ones with non-marketable skills staying on for job security.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use MariaDB to store some customers informations and reuse it for giving customers all services that they need. Work to promote open communications, and ensure employees aren't punished for two-way, honest and transparent feedback, and importantly that a "yes" culture isn't developed and potential problems or delays hidden.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Plenty of opportunity to fix things and gain experience in a variety of areas. Leverages the reputation of MySQL as core product. Unfortunately, it is now outdated with limited scope for growth in today's market. Some good talent coming through misled by its new silicon valley presence, but they usually leave pretty fast.
MriaDB: Simple RDMS solution
What do you like best about the product?
If you are coming from MySQL background as most of us does, MariaDB is the best tool you want to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
lack of documentation of this software compared to MySQL.

We used it with Dev environment of our web applications.

MariaDB is a solid backbone to a lot of custom apps we host. The development is open and performance is faster than MySQL

Not all OS's support MariaDB. There are better DB's out there

Hosting custom DB's and is used on a lot of appliances like Synology

Still doesn't have that flexibility as MySQL in queries

Provide more custom query and real-time database
Simple database for small applications
What do you like best about the product?
Its simple to install and use obviously you need to have the right business case to use this. Do not put your mission critical systems on it. If the transactions are light then this can be a great open source technology. But dont put anything on it that you cant afford to rebuild or loose.

There is still a lack of commercial support. it has lot of catching up to do with commercial options

Databases which are low cost to build and maintain. without having to worry about the license money.

MariaDB offers a large storage engine which can be used for storing large amount of data.

The query functionalities can be improved lityle more.

I uses MariaDB for storing our organization's data and also for executing sql and non sql queries.

what i like the most is the simplicity of use. it respect the relational DB rules

what i dislike the most is that relational rules are limited versus no sql

Excellent Open DB solution
What do you like best about the product?
Great alternative to more expensive relational DB systems out on the market. Offers similar features that larger systems have at a much, much lower cost (mostly free).
What do you dislike about the product?
Some functions are limited and some queries are not exact if coming from MS SQL Server.

Sales data collection from multiple sales channels.
