Great software tool & good technical support
What do you like best about the product?
XTM's technical support is fast and helpful. They always solved our issues efficiently. The tool is so simple and fast, accessible from any computer, a lot better than Trados and Smartling. It also increases my speed as a translator. I changed computer once and was able to authorize the device and start translating there in seconds, which is very good!
What do you dislike about the product?
When I open a project to check the number of words I should translate (under Statistics and then clicking my language) if the project contains more than one folder I need to open and close one by one, check statistics and then close it and go again to filter in projects, as I cannot go directly to the second and following folders. This is tedious and slow. How can I check the total number of words of a whole project (not a single file but many files) at once? without having to press the right button, Statistics, Language, and Words to be translated...? and it also takes me a while to find the words to be translated as it is further down below the screen. It should be more visible.
When I am doing Corrector files the system takes a while to refresh, if I send too many sentences proofread it gets frozen and I need to refresh several times. I get the impression that I am faster reviewing than the tool sending units :D but I noticed this got a bit faster lately, I think it is improving...

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't need to worry about backups any more, data are constantly updated and secure. It is not device-dependent.No complex parameters as in Trados. I skip projects in Trados only because of the time it takes to configure it, so many options drive me crazy!
XTM is one of the best PM tools
What do you like best about the product?
XTM is one of the best PM tools. I have used it for cost analysis, scheduling multiple projects and getting our content reviewed by various international reviewers.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like the tool but find it little over priced compared to other tools. Also, having analytics in the tool would be great to capture some metrics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's one platform or one stop solution for various parameters required for project management.

XTM is a very comprehensive platform
What do you like best about the product?
It allows different specialists to follow or perform a wide range of tasks and is compatible with various formats. I have used it as a translator and it is super comfortable to have the TMs at hand and personalize the entire working space. As a PM, creating a project, assigning it and follow the general workflow is really easy. Finally, I have also edited translation entries to "clean up" the translation memories and it is also very easy to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
For newcomers, it can be a little challenging at first to get used to all the steps required to submit projects, but overall it is easy to understand when you have guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The video beta allows my linguists to see the timestamps and determine the best course of action when dealing with subtitling files. However, as we use links within the company, the videos are not viewable for security reasons.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a potent tool that allows teams to manage a constant load of documents. Everything is stored, viewable, and well organized within the same space.

What do you like best about the product?
As a developer, we cover our whole workflows with XTM - from a direct connection through git to our dev teams to producing costs reports for our translation agencies at the end of the month. On top of that, XTM is also open to customization requests, so we were able to tailor the tool to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major that I can think of. The tool possesses many functions and offers many possibilities, so it can be a bit overwhelming at first. However, our XTM Account Manager helped us at the beginning to familiarize ourselves with the tool and find the best solutions for our workflows. We had as many calls as we wanted and felt 100% supported by the team at XTM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot! It enabled us to automatize our workflows: we have a direct connection to our dev teams; they are now able to send us text through the git connector and to create tasks automatically in XTM as soon as they have new or changed texts. We have also saved a lot of money thanks to the TM, since we didn't benefit from any fuzzy matches in our old proprietary translation tool. On top of that, we can create our own costs reports at the end of the month and use them for our POs. Costs are calculated automatically based on our agencies' rate cards, so we only need to extract them from the tool and send them out! In short, it removed a lot of manual steps from our workflows.
Freedom to choose the best option for any translation project
What do you like best about the product?
My favourite aspect of XTM Cloud is the doors it opens. They only sell you technology, not translation, so you can choose specialist language service providers for the right project. I saw both sides of the vendor neutrality debate as a Project Manager and for me it's a no-brainer. When a TMS provider also sold me language services, I was tied to linguists who sometimes had limited experience of the specialist technical areas I was working in. When I had a vendor-neutral TMS I had a platform to seek out the best people for the job,
What do you dislike about the product?
There were changes to the API that would have made things easier for us, and in fairness the feedback we got indicated that those points were being listened to and the changes were in the pipeline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
XTM Cloud solved the problem of enabling me to select (eg) specialist market research linguists for market research projects and specialist pharma linguists for specialist pharma projects. It gave me visibility of project progress, costs and performance and enabled me to update my clients and predict delivery with confidence.

Fully integrated, web-based experience, no file handling
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and to learn, fantastic user experience for client user in-country review, supports any type of production chain from individual translator to language services provider
What do you dislike about the product?
As a language services supplier, we have different requirements than industry users. Namely some configuration possibilities on system level should be on customer level. XTM has always worked on solving this for us and several improvements were already made in this respect
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
International collaboration with employees or freelancers without having to send a single file around, all while respecting strict data security and confidentiality rules. Important time savings were obtained for translation project management. Collaboration with subject matter experts and client-side reviewers who have little to no affinity to CAT tools.
XTM is a new state-of-the-art software solution
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the cloud solution of XTM since 2016. Today, I especially appreciate the new features of the latest release V12.8.

The XTM AI framework is not including or is not yet sufficiently trained to support intralingual translation.

As a localization partner of XTM, we solve the need to research the latest AI developments in the translation field and benefit from a new state-of-the-art software solution.

A True Enterprise-wide TMS
What do you like best about the product?
Although a lot of TMS systems on the market today purport to be "enterprise," very few cover the real needs of enterprise customers who are dealing with multiple in-house submitters (or "Customers" in XTM-speak), each with different requirements and a wide array of demands. XTM is a system that aids centralized, in-house localization teams within an enterprise to do the heavy lifting required when repeated requests are coming from a myriad of internal customers --- each with differing objectives, file formats, processing requirements, stakeholder review processes, etc. Additionally, the XTM Solutions support team is knowledgeable, helpful, quick to respond and have the experience to know general localization best-practices to guide customers on correct and effective TMS implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs a full UI/UX refresh (I understand this is in the works), and the naming of a few functions could be re-worded to minimize confusion, but that's all I would change. Otherwise, the power of XTM is evident to anyone who has the know-how to wield the *full* power of an "industrial-grade" TMS system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing translation and related services to customers who have purchased XTM as their TMS of choice. We use numerous TMS systems within our company on a daily basis and XTM expertise and knowledge is in our top 3 customer requests in regard to TMS.
