Project Manager's perspective on XTM features
What do you like best about the product?
Finance management features (ability to create instant quotes based on predefined rates) and quick connection to LSPs allowing PMs to automate their tasks and work more quickly and efficiently. It makes it stand out in the crowd of TMSs and CAT tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is cloud-based so you need good and stable internet connection to work in the Workbench as a linguist. It is also relatively slow to work with. Sometimes there are persistent bugs e.g. with connection to the InDesign server, which reoccur from time to time., not knowing why.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to XTM as a PM I can centralize all TMSs in one place and manage them effectively. There is no need to send any translation resources by email, especially when TMs and source documents are very big. I can also use professional MT engines directly in XTM combining the use of TMs, TBs with no matches being securely machine translated. Everything is done in one environment, which is very practical.
Great features, severe flaws in implementation
What do you like best about the product?
Fully featured TMS, will cover most of your use cases. Great for synchronized reviews of translations, very good alignment function that comes in handy, specific workflows depending on the target language, etc. Everything else really solid.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major flaw was in the implementation of our needed automatic order creation using their Bridge: What was promised, was not delivered. 5 months of "it´s going to work next week" have gone by now
UI feels like out of the 2000s, takes time to get used to, not as flashy (even though I wouldn´t consider that a major flaw) as the competitors.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The cloud solution makes it possible to include everybody within the company to deliver reviews, obviously, there´s MT, LQA features etc. that help us

Great tool, responsive team

XTM has a number of functionalities that help with team's most common needs in the language services industry, from project creation to translation memories and QA.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform has evolved massively over time, the interface is lacking in comparison with other industry leaders, in the sense that it looks dated and not as intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
XTM is solving problems around language services, from project management and record keeping, to translation memories, glossaries and quality assurance, all which have been beneffiting us.
Still onboarding the system, but the complexity of automations is amazing.

Automated workflows help relieve the need for additional LPMs and allow small loc depts to scale efficiently and
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some formatting issues with segmentation that is hard to setup in the initial set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adding adocs support to XTM will be incredibly helpful
Good for an online CAT solution
What do you like best about the product?
XTM provides an easy solution for high volumes to be shared between clients and translators and a streamlined way to submit finished translations without handling file transfer and locally saving files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like most browser solutions for localization, the service is missing some features compared to industry-standard CAT tools, lacking in the QA functionality, and taking some flexibility away from the translator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
XTM provides a streamlined work process that easily lets you complete the whole localization process on the go. It has all the basic features that is needed in a CAT tool to aid a translator in their work.

XTM has a great backend solution that makes it easy to connect with other tools you might be using.

What do you dislike about the product?
Support could be a bit faster and more efficient in their responses.
Up until now, project communication with your stakeholders within the platform could be better, but I believe there are plans to improve it.
The way terminology is handled is not efficient in my opinion, every customer has its own termbase, which means that you duplicate terms for every customer you have and updates are difficult to manage. Instead, TBs should be individual and a SSOT and users should be able to link them to specific customers as required.
After the onboarding, some services such as help uploading TMs and TBs come with a fee, and this information wasn't shared in the negotiation phase, I was indeed encouraged by the team to ask them to do so to then later discover that it came with a fee after the onboarding phase.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I believe the communication within projects is something XTM is working on and it's almost ready for release.
XTM creates a great translation experience for both linguists and project managers
What do you like best about the product?
The workbench, the TM management and the customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The API needs more maintenance and clarity
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation in our translation workflows between different systems. Easy to use translation workbench for our linguists.
One of the worst CAT tools in the translation industry
What do you like best about the product?
XTM Cloud is not a very helpful piece of software. But it is being required by some clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost everything. Having to work with meaningless formatting tags, incorrect auto-populated translations that require manual correction, inexplicable grammar rules, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
XTM Cloud creates more problems than it solves.
