The best solution for your planning and process needs
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the user experience is really flexible and meets the main needs of most enterprises. The Connected Planning experience a good implementation can give to its customers is a high-end solution that works really well. The platform constantly expands and is market competitive, the multiple integration options allow the system to communicate and seamlessly fit in any existing environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having been exposed to the gritty back-end work and not only the shiny front-end, there are things that can be enhanced in the way the dimensions work and the way the engine performs - being a live system means any blocking action cripples user experience for everyone involved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprises shifting their planning processes to a tool that can meet all their needs - processes can be clear and concise, and seamlessly interact with the overall business cases. Complex processes that span over multiple regions and business units are usually difficult to optimize or consolidate; however using Anaplan makes this step far easier to accomplish and maintain.

Fast, easy and effective way to Enhance Business Processes

Anaplan's powerful and in-memory calculation engine helps provide near real-time experience to the users

What do you dislike about the product?
Its single-threaded nature makes it sometimes hung if something is running already, for instance, a data load process or something related to a wrong command, etc. which puts all the users on a halt for a few seconds
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing Anaplan's computing capabilities for enhancing the planning, budgeting, and analytics process for our Sales and Finance domains to speed up the process and provide better insights for decision making. We recently used Anaplan for Sales Incentive payouts calculation, where in the payout mechanism was highly customized and Anaplan was flexible enough to cover for all the requirements.

Anaplan - A great EPM platform
What do you like best about the product?
From a partner's perspective, it is so easy to learn the programming language. From a user perspective, I like how easy it is to update front-end pages when I want to have a specific view.
What do you dislike about the product?
The company is growing quickly, and sometimes they might not keep up with the client requirements. But they seem to always push for more which is fantastic. So far, there wasn't a problem for which they didn't have an immediate solution or a workaround. So that's great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm helping clients by making internal business processes faster and more efficient. You enable decision making avoiding the number-crunching that usually takes place when you use a more labor-intensive tool such as Excel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a medium or large sized company that stil uses Excel for it's planning, budgeting and forecasting process, Anaplan is a great tool for unifying your processes, disrupting the department silos and enable collaboration for a faster and better business process within your company.

Anaplan offers flexibility that enables companies to build their business processes according to specific needs.
These custom processes can then be connected inside Anaplan, which starts to multiply the benefits from the system.

What do you dislike about the product?
The new user experience promises long-term benefits like mobile use and cross-platform use, but it still needs to be improved in terms of functionality to allow for the same pros that the old interface had.
For example, the amount of data can fit into a new user experience page is considerably lower compared to oldinterface dashboards.

We build a company-wide approach to forecasting, planning, and intelligence gathering.
Processes now take less time, and the data quality is much improved compared to old excel-based methods.

Continues to enhance planning
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan drives value and lessens time to decision. It's powerful calculation engine can handle complex logic, and it's intuitive user interface enhances usability but also tells a story. This allows organizations to clearly follow along even the most complex processes. Being able to calculate intricate formulas with vast arrays of data, and then clearly tell that story on a board or management page, is a feature that sets Anaplan apart. It is also scalable. With the right team, connected planning will become the rule instead of the exception at any commited organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some intuitive model building items that Anaplan could improve with, such as inherent time or dimension filtering that transcend having to build certain functionality to need. Additionally, while customer support is extremely helpful, the error messaging could improve and allow more troubleshooting on it's own. For example, the calculation process running in the midst of an erroneous formula can add extra time to making seemigly quick updates on the back end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One problem Anaplan is solving for us now is how to dynamically plan data on a daily level, while quickly aggregating to monthly views for analytical purposes. Previously, our client was unable to do this efficiently. Once they did get the correct views, they lost access to much of the daily & transactional level detail that drove the results. Anaplan fixed this issue seamlessly. This has allow for better forecasting, less stress during month end, and better decision making.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Anaplan as a solution for any business. The benefits are limitless, and the interface is friendly and easy to use. You will instantly see benefits if you have dedicated personnel helping implement and maintain. Clean data and a clear roadmap & vision are essential to successfully using this tool.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how flexible the tool is and how simple the coding language is; it makes learning easier for non-technical people.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite part about the tool is the non-selective ALM process. It makes maintenance and enhancements of live models very difficult.

Helping clients acheieve greater efficencies by automating a lot of the work they are doing in excel in anaplan.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an excellent tool when implemented correctly. Take your time and do it right the first time. You will see a lot of value in the platform if you execute correctly.

Flexibility, business ownership, and scalability.

Custom time settings and user-based filters are not perfected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can create an automated baseline forecast to add judgment-based forecast decisions to give me more time for value add activities.

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility, Scalable , Customizable, Dyanamic User Interface , NUX Pages and Reporting , Quick Modelling , Ability to model what if scenarios like excel models.
What do you dislike about the product?
Security Setup needs improvement; Groups wise provisioning needs to be enabled; inbuilt integration capability needs to be enabled. Provide an ability to customize security like SAP and Oracle systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan allows us to plan quickly and quickly provide decisions. This enabled in increased productivity and efficiency across the team. Moreover, the value-driven using Anaplan helped to reduce the cost in the organization.
