Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform a good tool for provisioning

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Ansible for provision Virtual machines and keep the servers uopdated
What do you dislike about the product?
The product is not suitable for Infraestructure management. But you can solve that issue with Terraform as a complement.

I preffer to use only one tool but the market show that you have to use both. Terraform and Ansible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The server configuration and provisioning

Initial Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform Review

  • November 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspects of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is that it easily allows teams to configure systems, deploy software, and also arrange advanced team workflows that allows configuration management during the initial software provisioning. This has made it one of my most top favorite DevOps tools that is fairly easy to use for software automation that I have used during my IT career.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I would have liked to have more of was documentation for the software itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows the ability for other objectives to be worked on while Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform complete tasks that were done manually in the past.

Easy to handle server deployment

  • October 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly platform where whe can create ansible jobs which will be in Json formate,
using those jobs we can handle the task like running some commands in multiple servers like by providing that group name in the ansible parameter.
This makes me to handle more servers using one single ansible job to run simer command in Al servers.
Most of the I use this ansible tower for deployments and handle patching activities in 1000+ servers in single run.
It's a gui and user friendly platform to understand and handle the server groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some time the platform went to stable/struck state due to some network or other platform issue.
But it's not a big issue as per my openion.
Faced issue in connectivity to servers for some time but it's not that much issue in this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This platform makes to automate the deployments done in more numbers of servers by running single job by passing required parameters.
I can easily understand and group the servers in a group wise and use those group of servers for running single command in them by running playbooks.
It is easy to analyse logs, like where exactly the error was occer while running the playbooks.
Usually before using Red Hat Ansable automation platform, I used to handle 1000+ servers by logging in them and run certain queries, it is more time consuming but using this Red Hat Ansible automation platform I can easing those 1000+ servers at single command job running.
It is easy to configure the platform to access the servers.

  • October 25, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Red Hat ansible is one stop solution in the world of automation. It helps to perform automated infrastructure deployments as well as application deployments.
The best part is its easy to perform setup as its agentless (It need to be installed on only master machine) and we can connect on 100s of nodes without any install on slave nodes .
Its using yaml format which is easy in terms of development.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no cons in this tool as it supporrts almost all clouds like AWS Azure and GCP as well as it supports VMWare esxi automation too.

So There is not at all any cons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using ansible for almost each and every activity such as application release , Oracle and Linux patch updates , Application upgrades
We are using Ansible tower for kafka based connector deployments.

There are almost 100 of use cases we have in our organisation.

The span of systems which it can touch and interact with.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of a smooth way to handle if/then/else or conditional execution..

The ability to manage systems and services outside of Red Hat software so it provides more of a one-stop shop for automation.

Automation using Ansible Automation Platform

  • June 03, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about the Ansible Automation Platform is its UI. Very user-friendly and easy to create templates, inventories, projects and credentials. Wide variety of modules makes it irreplaceable and integrate with multiple tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it lags a bit. Whenever we commit the code in a repo, its not reflecting automatically. I have to go to projects manually and refresh the scm, which is time consuming
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted to automate server validations, restart multiple servers with various validations and Active-Active scenarios, and Handover the automation to support engineers. The UI made it easy to use the Ansible automation platform for the support engineers.
