Excellent cost visibility tool with room for query builder improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Finout consistently delivers outstanding results and comprehensive visibility into cost changes, which is invaluable for tracking and understanding our infrastructure spending. As a software engineer, I appreciate how it provides clear insights into cost fluctuations and helps identify optimization opportunities. The visibility it offers into cost trends and changes is exceptional and has become an essential part of our cost management workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main challenge I encountered was with the query builder interface. Building queries can be somewhat cumbersome due to the extensive lists of filters and the numerous fields and attributes available for filtering. While the abundance of options provides flexibility, it can make the process feel overwhelming and time-consuming, especially when trying to construct complex queries quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I'm implementing performance improvements or cost optimization initiatives, Finout is my go-to tool for quantifying the actual monetary effects. Whether I'm adding extra infrastructure to boost performance or implementing cost-saving measures, Finout allows me to track exactly how much we're spending on the additional resources or how much we're saving from optimizations.
Finally a FinOps tool that people want to use
What do you like best about the product?
Not only does this software conform to our very complex multi-cloud environment and private pricing agreements, it is a tool that was quickly and widely embraced by our engineering and business leadership teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to some of our complex and detailed reporting requirements not all features can currently support our data export requirements. Fortunately, the Finout team has taken our feedback seriously and is implementing changes to a future platform release and was willing to manually assist with exporting the data we require until the feature release.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Greater visibility into our multi-cloud environments and a superior user experience that has generated internal excitement and participation from other personas within the organization.
Powerful FinOps Visibility Without the Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
Finout makes it really easy to get started with cloud cost management. The interface is clean, simple, and doesn’t require a ton of setup or training—our team was up and running quickly. It’s super intuitive, which means not just the FinOps team but also engineers and finance folks can jump in and start using it without much hand-holding. The tool connects easily to cloud providers and other services, and it’s fast to show real value.
It’s also gaining real traction in the market. More and more teams are picking up Finout because it helps break down complex cloud spend into something much more understandable. Features like business mapping and unit economics are super helpful if you want to tie cloud costs to actual outcomes. Plus, the company moves quickly, rolling out new features and updates based on what customers are asking for.

What do you dislike about the product?
Finout’s still growing. If you have really specific needs—like complex custom reports or deep API integrations—you might run into some limitations. Some features you'd expect in more mature enterprise tools (like advanced user permissions or deeper automation) are still catching up. And since they ship updates often, things can change fast, which sometimes means the UI looks a little different than you remembered. Nothing major, but something to be aware of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us clear, centralized visibility into cloud and SaaS spend across multiple providers. This was something that was previously fragmented and time-consuming to piece together. Before Finout, pulling cost insights meant jumping between different dashboards, normalizing data, and often relying on engineering support or legacy systems. Now, we can quickly see where costs are going, and spot anomalies without a lot of manual work. It’s also helped with faster decision-making. Because it’s easy to use and doesn’t require deep technical skills, stakeholders across finance, engineering, and sourcing can all engage with the data directly. That’s reduced back-and-forth and made it easier to align on budget conversations, savings opportunities, and contract strategy.
Hyper-flexible cloud cost insights with strong governance features
What do you like best about the product?
Finout provides a responsive and interactive cost exploration experience, which provides a strong foundation for expansive feature set. We're heavily leveraging its shared cost functionality which allows us to chargeback and allocate previously opaque platform-level costs to teams across our organization - functionality which no other vendor provides. Its virtual tagging system provides a level of flexibility and customization which allows us to abstract away complexity to our end-users. Additionally, its custom cost functionality gives us the flexibility to add any 3rd party vendor and view costs side by side with supported cloud providers, this mitigates the need for us to wait for Finout to add specific integrations with every vendor we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Finout can be quite complex at times, which is fine for experience users, but for end-users such as engineers which may not be as familiar with the product, it can be overwhelming. The good news is that Finout is actively improving this with features such as simplified filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring our cloud costs across many providers. Providing team-level visibility across a team's cloud spend, down to a high-level of detail (such as cost of an analytics event). Provides anomaly alerting functionality which reduces our time to detection of spend anomalies, ultimately saving money. Also provides budgeting functionality.
Clear, Flexible, and Actionable Cost Insights
What do you like best about the product?
Finout has become an essential part of our FinOps process. It lets us break down cloud costs not just by service or spend type but also by how we organize things—teams, departments, services. The interface is intuitive, the implementation was smooth, and the support team is responsive and open to feedback. We can now clearly measure how changes in product or infrastructure impact spending, which has helped us identify many optimization opportunities and track their actual effect.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CostGuard Rightsizing feature could be more accurate, especially when it comes to estimating savings and showing Kubernetes resource usage details. That said, based on how quickly they’ve acted on our input before, we’re confident improvements are on the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementing FinOps in our org. Cost observability and cost optimisation.
Great Product! and can do much more...
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use for everyone (not only FInOps Eng's), easy to create reports / dashboard's and to view the costs.
It not so expensive like CloudHealth...
Customer Support is great! I get what I need and very fast :)

What do you dislike about the product?
It lack some basic views, like amount of machines per account per day.
Feed of creating new resources.
I can't monitor EC2's utilization like I could do with CloudHealth (it's more complex and not flexible).
Can be easily improved if the FinOut team will add more standards / templates, for example some of my dashboard I'm sure more of your customer will want, and you can give more details regarding common things (RI's / SP's utilization, GPU machines, and other services that are very common in companies),

I have to monitor many accounts, in many payer accounts. With finOut I can aggregate it to one view and it's easier to calculate how much it cost per team / product in my company.

What do you dislike about the product?
API Support - Currently the API is really basic and would love to see an API first approach.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- GIves an overview of costs from all our cloud providers
- Provides ability to slice and dice through costs, despite lacking good tagging
- Helps us set budgets and alert the teams when they might breach the budgets

Powerful FinOps Tool with Great Support
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Finout pulls all our cloud costs from places like AWS and Kubernetes into one single bill. The virtual tagging is also great because we can finally see exactly what each team or project is spending without a ton of manual work. It's given us much better visibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it's powerful, some of the more advanced features took a bit of time to get the hang of. I also think it could offer more direct integrations with other tools we use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the core problem of managing and making sense of complex cloud expenses, especially when trying to track historical data or detect anomalies. We benefit by gaining much better control over our spending, identifying waste, and having reliable data for forecasting.

FinOut - Advanced FinOps Observability Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Finout allow usage based cost allocation,
It uses K8s and Prometheus metrics for shared resources (compute/ memory) to allow me as a user to decide how to distribute my cost.
If you're looking to get a clearer margins picture for your customers, and you're working multi-tenant architecture, with pool of resources for your different customers, finout is the solution.
otherwise you are always stuck with how well your labeling mechanism and attribution is.
In terms of BI, the cost history report is designed carefully, slicer search is swift and smart unlike old school tools.
You can gain a fast and accurate picture by just using the Group by which come with additional magic- not only that it slices the data it also filters only the relevant context.
for exp you group by a snowflake database name, no need to filter out any of you GCP/ AWS resources.
Anomalies report will allow you to create clear alerts based on any time scope you desire.
We're also using the Jira integration to create tickets based on the alerts defined in the system.
In general the ease of use for integration in finout is great.
Overall it is a great finops tool, which I use daily.
In terms of Customer Support I can genuinely say that the experience is amazing, a team of go getters who pushes for the best results, always places us in the first place, it almost feels like a joined operations.

What do you dislike about the product?
It will require a more capable set of hands to understand how to get everything out of this tool, I assume that not every other business fp will easily find the right metric for allocation, it will require a level of expertise in promql, k8s and the product.
I think this "diss-advantage" is key in order to gain better visibility, but if you're looking for a smarter tool - that's the one.
I'm sure you can also work your way up with just tags- but than your losing the point of finout.
There is room to improve around Snowflake meta data integration.
