SPSS is useful and effective
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can navigate the different options with clear icons and descriptors.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think SPSS is often inefficient and not compatible with all data sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS provides a way to perform stats in a way that is easy for a beginner.
User friendly statistical software
What do you like best about the product?
The user friendly interface. With click of buttons one can easily get the outcome without need of any coding
What do you dislike about the product?
Not so intuitive compared to JMP. One needs some efforts in looking up online to know which tabs/options to use for any particular analysis. For me LAERD website worked fine to assist in using SPSS
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have done analysis such as ANOVA, repeated measures for my research needs
Great software for biostatisticians in the making
What do you like best about the product?
The supporting documentation is really good! Some of the reference guides even teach you statistics!
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found it hard to work on large datasets using SPSS
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Epidemiological studies, research analysis for pharmaceutical industry
Spss
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is very user friendly and intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
The graphing tools are complicated and difficult to sometimes get exactly what you want. More edit options would be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis
Good software package
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is a relatively easy to learn package that allows you to do most simple and complex statistical inferences.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the terminology in the GUI can be confusing when it does not match with other softwares. Also mixed modeling is limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use SPSS to complete research data analysis.
A crucial tool for evaluators
What do you like best about the product?
I use SPSS regularly and really appreciate the wide range of analyses available, and the ability to design charts and graphs to visualize the findings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it is a robust tool, It can sometimes be cumbersome to use, and the learning curve is fairly steep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We currently use SPSS to analyze client data to draw conclusions about the work they are doing, transforming their data into actionable and meaningful conclusions.
SPSS is effective and user-friendly.
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use, don't need to know code
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't do analyses that are more complicated such as SEM, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Can do t-tests, regressions, ANOVAs, etc.
Run analyses
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's point and click--no need to know cdoe
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not good for large datasets or trying to manage a dataset--SAS is better for this because it creates temp files without overriding the current dataset
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to answer research questions--helps us identify group differences and statistically significant findings.
Oldschool gold standard
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of data entry, recognition internationally and in statistics/social science fields.
What do you dislike about the product?
Clunkiness of creating charts and exporting data to microsoft word and other applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to find out what leads students to choose a major and to market more effectively to those students.
SPSS is a good program for simple statistics and analyses
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is very user friendly. For those who are not great at coding or don't want to learn a specific language, this program is for one. You can use the menu option. However, if you want to learn a language, the program also allows you to do that!
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not good for more advanced analyses. If you want to do more in-depth or intense statistics, it is not easy to figure out. Some settings (referent groups) aren't able to be changed unless you know the coding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this program to write research reports and to how our data. This helps us with keeping grant funding, as well as publishing papers and disseminating research findings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This program is good for simple statistical analysis, but if you want to do anything in-depth, I would recommend different programs. It seems that programs/students that are not in the hard sciences often use this program. It is easy to use, you don't need to learn the coding language, and it is simple to click around and figure things out. It also is great for building a dataset, especially for those wanting to learn how to do so. I recommend this product, but again, it is not great for more advanced stuff.
