Love SPSS

What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is an incredibly user friendly tool to use for research. With minimal training I was able to do fairly complicated statistical analyses, as well as make graphs and charts to use in my scientific paper.
What do you dislike about the product?
For higher level research with more complicated statistics, SPSS might not be the absolute best program to use. However, it is a fantastic starting point, and is very user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The IBM SPSS Statistics program benefits our business because it helps us to do statistical analysis in a quick and reliable fashion, allowing us to move forward with our research studies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before you use the IBM SPSS Statistics, make sure you watch video tutorials online and read up on all of its features. You get the most out of this program the more you know how to use it.

It is user friendly and a quick processor.

A more helpful user help guide would be helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my many level complicated ANOVAs the program can do post-hoc tests in seconds.

What do you like best about the product?
The color coding of syntax to indicate completion/correctness of the syntax. Examples in the syntax reference PDF. The ability to edit output.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not having a dialogue box where I can instantaneously run syntax just by hitting return (and then paste the finalized syntax into a saved file). STATA has this feature and I really like it. It would also be good to have more examples in the syntax reference PDF.

Data analysis for program evaluation.
SPSS Is Helpful for Everything
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the ability to easily transfer data between excel, google sheets, and SPSS. I also really like that once you "get" the program, you've got it -- once you learn what you're doing, you can do some pretty neat things statistically with it. I am also going to be teaching Behavioral Statistics in the fall, and it's going to be fun to impart this knowledge to other students in order for them to understand what I am doing as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the program isn't super intuitive -- for example, you have to do a lot of "playing around" with pieces of the software (such as graphs) in order for it to do what you want. It's also hard doing APA specific graphs in this software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do a lot of research for each of my jobs, including psychological statistics for research papers, and examining the writing proficiency of students that I tutor. I am also teaching Behavioral Statistics at the collegiate level, and will be teaching students the ins and outs of SPSS in order to help them become proficient within their fields.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to handle variables and data, so many advanced functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Saving and re- opening process could be faster/ easier- it feels a little complicated and time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analysis, linear regressions, correlations etc.. It also has advanced modelling functions such as mixed models, multilevel regressions etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I find this a little more advanced than the competitive packages. It seems complicated at the beginning but once you get used to it it has endless possibilities
Though it takes a while to learn all of the functions, once fluent it is extremely user friendly.

The ease of running descriptives. I also like the variable view functions and movement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the copy and paste functions are clunky.

Data entry, data analysis.

Takes forever to load on my computer because its such a big program. Also very expensive

What do you like best about the product?
The Gui is nice for stats beginners and those who don't have programming skills. You can easily save your syntax, add to the syntax and keep track of what you did.

There are some functions that are not available. It also gives you a lot of output that is often not necessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in research and do statistical analyses on a daily basis. It makes it very easy for beginners to get started when I'm training new junior staff.

I like that you are able to get a full report using SPSS as in the past with SAS and STATA I have had trouble teaching students how to properly analyze data and then look at the results in other programs but this is not a problem with SAS. Thank you very much for including me in this survey
