Ease of SPSS
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy how SPSS just involves clicking buttons. No really complicated coding is really that needed for a lot of stuff.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how narrow its uses are. It does not have the multiple pooled cross sectional time series routines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it mainly for statistical analysis in my research. It's helpful running a quick, easy analysis as opposed to having to type a bunch of code to run something that should be really simple.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great for quick, easy analyses that aren't too complicated.
Good but not the best
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use with drop-down menu options for various analyses such as regression, ANOVA, MANOVA, descriptive statistics, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of command line input interface. Other softwares such as STATA provides you the ability to code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS allows to analyze the data to investigate association between variables. For example, it allows the analyst to understand the impact of employee turnover on firm performance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SPSS is a nice tool to get started with when it comes to analyzing data. However since everything is just click of few options, be careful that you know what analysis you are running.

It's a great tool for social science research. There are well-established guides that can help you use it

It's starting to become more outdated with newer statistical models not as utilized

It's helpful in analyzing data and publishing research.
Excellent analytic tool for analyzing survey results
What do you like best about the product?
IBM SPSS text analytics enables users to evaluate survey results in a way other survey providers do not. Although the ability to administer surveys is a common tool of different services, SPSS, which is a well known and user friendly analytics software, empowers analysis, enabling users to gain a deeper understanding of surveys they administer. Great customer service as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Utilizing the analytical software using statistical programming may be more difficult for those unfamiliar with SPSS or similar statistical software/language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software has helped our organization quantify customers opinions and sentiment about out products, services, and support.

Although there is a learning curve, the software may enable companies to better understand how their customers perceive their products and services.

Solid product for research analysis
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS was more user friendly than other analytic software I have used in the past and I found it to be a pretty quick learning process.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is expensive and is not widely used in state health departments so it's not always useful across organizations or different fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Health research problems - I used it to run analysis on national survey data looking at risk factors for substance use and mental health disorders in the United States of America.

Take into consideration what other organizations in your field are using so you can more easily collaborate and share information.

It is relatively quick and allows us to turn over results quickly

For more in depth analysis it is not as easy to use so it tends to be done through another program or outsourced.

Statistical tool for small projects
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is easy to use for those unfamiliar with statistical analysis. Rather than coding, it only requires point and click abilities. The graphic outputs are similarly easy to export and display.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited ability to rearrange and manage databases, so your data has to be fairly clean to begin with. Also, setting specific options in your analysis is not as simple as in more advanced statistical software.

Analyzing databases to answer broad public health questions and show evidence of program effectiveness
