Love what I remember
What do you like best about the product?
Once you figure out how to use the program it is wonderfully effective in science courses.
What do you dislike about the product?
From what I remember, there was a bit of a steep learning curve
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It offers the students in my courses another way to analyze data in experimentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a fairly easy to use product and well worth researching all of the functions and features
Commonly used statistics software
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to set values and labels for large datasets. Cluster analysis is useful for segmentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
No backup functionality which would be very helpful since software crashes quite often.
Look and feel is very 90's.
Look and feel is very 90's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding marketing segments in datasets.
SPSS for Research Data Analyses
What do you like best about the product?
I like that SPSS is laid out as a spreadsheet format where you can easily view the data and corresponding variables. I also like that SPSS makes it easy to run both basic and advanced statistical tests without spending hours coding as in other software programs, as it allows for automated data coding. In addition, SPSS makes it easy to locate and manage missing values.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I have found that I most dislike about SPSS is that it does not allow for you to edit and make changes in figure outputs. Other statistical software programs allow for these manipulations. It also has limited functionality when doing time series analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using SPSS as a researcher who is involved with data analyses for clinical trials. I've found that SPSS is easy to learn, intuitive, and allows for accurate and efficient data entry and analysis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For easy quantitative data analysis, I recommend using SPSS Statistics. In addition to easy and quick data import and entry, it allows for you to simply select the appropriate variables and output applications so that you can run quick automated statistical tests.
Powerful, user-friendly but requires some experience
What do you like best about the product?
I'm able to perform the most basic or medium-complexity analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The more advanced stuff requires other software (like R or Python and a data science degree!) Visualizations are pretty terrible, so I end up putting the output in excel to visualize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SPSS for market research (segmentation, factor analysis, clustering.) With other software these analyses can be complicated and prone to error but it's a point-and-click with SPSS.
SPSS review
What do you like best about the product?
The drop down menu functionality is the best part of the program. Being able to export the data to excel is beneficial when sharing results internally.
What do you dislike about the product?
How slow the program can be. There is a lack of functionality on Mac processors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conducting further analysis after receiving initial data from our data teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a really good program to use and teach on.
Fantastic statistical software
What do you like best about the product?
Spss is incredibly user friendly with a very easy to use interface that we have usd on multiple projects on epidemiology research. Online help is also easily available by simply googling questions
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain analyses that are challenging to do on spss such as multiple imputations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using spss to run statistical analyses on RCTs and cross-sectional studies to answer epidemiological and quality improvement research questions
Feature packed, perfect for marketing research
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS provides an extensive amount of analytics at your fingertips, and is so incredibly useful for marketing research.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a learning curve, and isn't easy to use like many web-based analytic tools are, but the insight SPSS provides is incredible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing research problems, and objectives. Data is analyzed quickly, and information seemingly appears out of nowhere, even though it was right in front of you the entire time...
Excellent program
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is very user friendly. You have the option the use point and click menues or syntax. The menu content is intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the default settings are tedious, like having logs in the output. It isn’t clear how to change default settings. Printing output is not practical because or page settings and excessive tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can quickly make the most of our data and understand our results.
Amazing Learning - Market Research
What do you like best about the product?
It is a novel statistical tool, quite in practice these days
What do you dislike about the product?
We need some prior knowledge of statistics and sometimes difficult to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Green marketing analysis. I have done statistical research on SPSS
Solid program if you don't want to dig under the hood
What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple. You put your data in, and you tell the program what kind of analysis to run.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formulas etc aren't modifiable. If I want to run a slightly different process I can't get under the hood.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic business analysis
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's good as an intro tool, but you can't go that deep
