Great for processing, sucks for macs
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS works great for doing straightforward analyses and creating graphs
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS as an IBM program doesn't function ideally for Apple products
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to perform all of the data analyses that I need to in my role and teach others how to use it as well
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware of the computer system you use
Easy to work, learn, and understand statistical analysis and modeling tool
What do you like best about the product?
-Graphical UI
-Easy to navigate among options
- Great output when applying different test, models
- Extensive amount of learning material and great content written by experts

What do you dislike about the product?
Not easy to code, it has its own language. Could be significantly more friendly if supporting R or Python. The application is not good for big data as it loads everything in memory. If your laptop has little memory, it wont load and crash.
It does not provide learning license. I wish IBM could have released a version for self learning students.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Descriptive analysis, statistical test, statistical modeling
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it for small data. For big data, it is not a candidate at all. I have seen it successful in social science, medicine, and education where sample data is small. In businesses with big volume of data like telecom or networking, this is not working unless you perform your test on a very small dataset.
The beauty is that you do not need a full fledge expert to make it run. If use has basic math/stats, he can start and use the guide to learn.

SPSS no longer the gold standard?
What do you like best about the product?
It's flexibility to use dialog boxes and to use syntax to program
What do you dislike about the product?
EVERYTHING ABOUT PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION! Even though I have been using SPSS since it was on VAX and UNIX (mainframe) we had to stop using it in the last year. Too difficult, lengthy and confusing to be able to purchase and download the software. IBM killed this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing interactions between multiple forms and types of data (structured and unstructured
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have your IT department hand;e everything about purchase and installation
I use SPSS alot
What do you like best about the product?
That it has menu and syntax, so if you like coding, you can use the syntax and the menu is always there to help you if you dont know the code. I like the you can paste the work when you are using the menu and then trasforme it into syntax
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like that there are only limit number of companies using it. So if you like to analysis your data using SPSS, then its harder for you to fit into some jobs that requires using a free software. I dont like that SPSS cannot do all types of analysis, like. Stuctural equation modeling. Also some of the analysis, you only can do them by syntax not menu. Also whenever i try to copy and past the graphs i do on SPSS to a paper to puplish or something, the quality of the graph wont be satisfactory
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing data and statistical analysis
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make it free, there are so many
Quick and convenient statistical analysis toolbox
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can use dropdown menus and option boxes to conduct my analyses (rather than strictly writing code). Syntax is great way to keep track of what I have done, take notes, and repeat a previous analysis. So many functions, it does just about everything that I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I run a bunch of analyses in one sitting, my output file piles up with analyses and there isn't a great way to separate things out. Not easy to find old output. I wish I could easily have another output file where I can save just the important things. I wish it were easier to delete output.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conducting academic and industrial research on complex data sets, including motion tracking data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A training course is required in order to be able to use the full functionality of the software. well worth it though.
Easy to use and good for what it is.
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part about SPSS is how easy it is to use, and especially for new team members to pick it up and work with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is easy to use, SPSS does not come close to the versatility and flexibility in different statistical modeling techniques that other programs have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most of our low-level analyses are done in SPSS. For repeat analyses, we can save and rerun syntax commands, and new analyses are easy to add as well. It's especially nice that new team members with no experience can pick up SPSS within a week or so.
SPSS is a good option for simple statistics, not for advanced statistics
What do you like best about the product?
I think it's fairly user friendly. Undergraduates usually have no trouble learning how to perform simple statistics using SPSS.
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS is not an all-inclusive program, like R. Therefore, I can start with SPSS, but I usually have to explore other options, such as Mplus or R to perform advanced statistics, such as SEM or multilevel modeling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again, this is something I use solely for research purposes. The benefits are ease of usability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Depending on your needs, SPSS may be a viable choice. However, there are more powerful options out there, especially if you don't mind a bit of programing.
Amazing product for conducting quantitative analysis in the field of MArket research
What do you like best about the product?
Variety of features in it allows you to run any kind of analytics you want to analyze the result.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is easy to use after someone initially guides, beginners will need someone to guide them at the beginning. It is not self explanatory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running analytics to solve market research questions for our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand the basics of using it before you start using it, if you are a beginner.
Also, if you are anywhere doing market research, this is your best tool!

SPSS
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to label data, run and rerun analysis
What do you dislike about the product?
There are sometimes too many steps to select parameters for analysis - it would be nice to save preferences. It would also be nice of they had more succinct reminders of what each analysis will get you - both statistically and from a business sense, particularly for ones we don't do as often. It would also be nice to have an easy way to conduct management/quality oversight
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analysis of client data - importance, performance, satisfaction, segmentation, market opportunity identification. In terms of benefits, I've used the data to feed strategic recommendations and reports.
User friendly and provides plentiful information
What do you like best about the product?
How user friendly it is, whether a novice or an expert, the software allows you to easily manipulate data with friendly interface or syntax (to your preference)
What do you dislike about the product?
limited in its capabilities transferring files, and doesnt always provide effect sizes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multilevel modeling, moderation, mediation, correlations, t test, anovas,
