difficulty in installing, not open source

it is a sophistricated system with lots of capabilities

took too long to install, roi not clear. hard to integrate with open source product, not many exoperts out there ion academia/new user base

the flochart like workflow that makes it really intuitive and understandable

One-stop shop for Modeling
What do you like best about the product?
25 years back, I started with SPSS to learn model development. It stands for Ease of Use. Meant for all user segments- students, practitioners, developers. Over time it has kept adding to its catalogue of techniques and being relevant.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually nothing. It has the entire range right from time series, regresssion to neural networks. Maybe there needs to make bespoke development / code writing easier like SAS.

SPSS helped me a lot during mz master thesis to perform statistical tests on a huge set of data. It also helped a lot to interpret the results in a right way

The format of input data was a little bit restrictiv, I had to preprocess a lot

I used it for my master thesis, where I had to perform tests like chi-squared tests.

Powerful statistics tool
What do you like best about the product?
IBM SPSS statisticas tool is a very powerful predictive modeling tool including text mining, and it can handle tons of varibles for business cases. It also can provide some prelimiary insights on what variables are most relevant if you want to exam them first.
What do you dislike about the product?
what I dont like the most is the cost, a bit costy for business to bear to scale it.

The ability to quickly import a data set, ablity to run some quick statistics, as well as incorporating more advanced modeling such as logistic regression

I wish there was more integration with open source languages
