Decent program for statistics
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is a powerful tool for any statistical operation. There are also a lot of tutorials, not only from IBM themselves but also from the community. The output from the several analyses look decent and can be customized to an extent.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool itself looks a bit outdated, but that does not influence its functions. It has a steep learning curve, which means that you could feel lost when first using the program (at least that's how I felt). But again there are some great documentations that show how to use the program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mostly use SPSS for analysing marketing related data for my study.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about SPSS is that it is user friendly. The manual really helps when I do not know how to use a certain feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the syntax aspect of SPSS. It would be helpful if the guide was more detailed regarding the syntax portion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS allows me to conduct research in my doctoral studies and has helped me work in my thesis. I will continue to use SPSS throughout my doctoral education.

Very graphic user interface, easy to use instructions, multiple statistical features, greasy IBM support, large community online for help

The licensing design, no full versions available, often struggles to open on older computers and run smoothly

Easy to use, the tools are practical and the graphics and tables are very good.

It should be possible to add automatic calculations and commands, not just when the table is already filled.

Academic research, and I can say that's the most practical tool I could ever use!

Simple functions to conduct statistical analysis. Easy to use and manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I never had any issues with the product itself. I've had issues with my own data, but that's pretty much it.

Anyone can learn this software, it has simple functions to conduct statistical analysis. Easy to use and manage.

You can upload data collection or even enter the data. Never had any issues. Simple to use and to learn.

Spss is a great introduction to data management and statistics, easy to use GUI and intuitive tools.

Compared to other programs there is a relative lack of online support.

Statistics and cross tabulations, very easy to perform.

What do you like best about the product?
SPSS allows us to save all our data analysis and manipulation instructions such that it is easy to understand the steps involved in future events like six to seven months later. It is also capable of tackling quite complex functions and so far has been able to handle all the kinds of analysis we have needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting customer support can be quite a tedious process especially when upgrading to a new version. it can also have quite a difficult user interface especially to people who are using it for the first time and do not have an experience of data analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use SPSS in our company to analyze raw data collected from field surveys. In our department especially, we use it to handle complex statistical analysis problems through descriptive measures such as mean mode and median. We then use the analyzed results in our reports and presentations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SPSS is the best software for dealing with raw data apart from collection and once the user interface is understood it becomes quite a useful and user friendly data analysis tool.

I like how easy to use this software is. It also also very helpful that excel can be inputted into SPSS software

Sometimes not very easy to use especially when coming from another format

Just doing a lot of Statistics. Benefits include just quick stats computations
Easy to use and the updated version is much faster

I like that the updated version is much faster as I have been using this for 3 years and it just keeps getting better.

I dislike that sometimes it saves your files to the wrong place and there seems to be occasional bugs in the program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am doing psychological research analysis with SPSS and I have seen that it takes the stress out from having to do the work by hand.

The cost is high but it is worth it.
