Understanding the understandable
What do you like best about the product?
I love how SPSS gives insight to my company on how my customers behave. I can create new strategies for my clients based on data and not on arguments. SPSS gives me the tools to perform complex analysis in minutes, compared on using an open source tool. I also like how the menus and the user interfase works. For someone who has used statistics before its very easy to use (if you know what you´re doing).
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like that it is too technical. Not everyone understants statistics and how they work. There must be more graphics and more visual dashboards like the two step cluster dashboard. I leally like how i can show the data to my boss on this dashboard. It makes my work easier and faster.
There should be more tools that help me how to discover my data. The discover funciton is just fine, but it could be better.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my compnay we need to understand how my cliets are alike in order to create new business strategies. SPSS helps me to understand my data in an easier way. Sometimes we need more insight about our customers.

Help menus shoulndt be that complex

What do you like best about the product?
To me, what is best about SPSS is the ease of use (if you know how to use it). The way it takes in all of the numbers and spits out calculations within seconds makes doing any sort of research easy and enjoyable. SPSS has made research, for students, a breeze and a lot less scary. There are tons of video demonstrations out there on the internet that will guide you step by step how to set up and complete an equation.
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS statistics can be incredibly confusing at times. When I first opened it up, I was completely lost. If not for my book giving me step by step instructions, I would have gotten nothing done. Some of the important features are buried in tabs that don't make sense. It may take a little time for you to completely get used to. I know that it took me months to finally remember where every equation setup was. This could cause many users to give up early on the software and revert to another.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the issue of calculating difficult. multi-step math equations. As a student who conducts research, SPSS has given me the opportunity to conduct numerical research with ease. I don't have to take the time to calculate equations by hand, nor do I have to depend on a spreadsheet to put out the results I need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a book that will help navigate through you the steps of completing certain equations. This will go a long way.
Taking the stress away from statistics
What do you like best about the product?
I am dyscalculic and struggle to manipulate numbers. This program allows a great deal of the stress I feel manipulating numbers accurately to be alleviated.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have so far encountered nothing in this program that I have a complaint about that isn't related to my own support needs rather than the program itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I would literally no be able to handle the statistical aspects of the course and job role I am currently engaged in without this program. I cannot see why anyone in this day and age would not utilize this instead of personally calculating.

It has a user-friendly interface and allows for both GUI- and syntax-driven analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the option of using syntax, there is little flexibility in implementation of analyses relative to other programs such as R. Also, the code is not open source.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The software crashes frequently even when doing simple tasks such as data entry or reformatting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommended if you are looking for ease of use but not flexibility for more complex analyses.

Complete Statistics Package Without Spending Hours on Coding
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS offer a robust set of analytics packages with a user-friendly drag and drop and approach. It performs everything other packages such as SAS and R without requiring the user to have extensive knowledge in programming.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be tough to find where to change defaults such as the alpha level from .05 to .1.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving issues with grouping observations into similar clusters. The two-stage clustering solution as well as the traditional hierarchical and non hierarchical provide strong insights.
There are better alternatives
What do you like best about the product?
There's not much that I like. It is good for people who want to rely on a basic GUI for stats and not have easy customization ability.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is expensive - not feasible unless you work for an organization that is able and willing to purchase it. It's clunky, data has to be in wide format, and it's difficult to customize visualizations efficiently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've used it for data analysis and visualization.
Great for number crunching but not for modeling
What do you like best about the product?
Quick output of results. Number crunching and available statistics is powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not very intuitive. The UI can definitely be improved and made more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working on statistical figures that would either be very hard to work out manually in Excel or just not be supported by Excel.
A complete statistics program for examining all your data
What do you like best about the product?
Many programmed tests for examining the data. It is also a well-arranged program.
What do you dislike about the product?
It may take a while to load the program. However, this can also be caused by my computer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When examining data for, for example, the thesis, it is a great program.

Buy a book with an explanation of the static tests and how to use them.
