Data Analysis
What do you like best about the product?
easier to analyze data and process reports
What do you dislike about the product?
the time it takes for it to load on the computer
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it typically takes a while to load
The most sophisticated tool for statistical analysis
What do you like best about the product?
I like this software because I can easily integrate R with it. With the combination of these two applications creates an unmatched synergy. In addition to many possibilities of integrations, I like SPSS Statistics because advanced regressions are super easy to make with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS Statistics has one big drawback. It has a very outdated design. One might think that application is from the early 90s.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS Statistics has made it possible for me to find many patterns within the Big Data. I think that many of the decisions that the company makes is based on the statistics and I do not know a better application for analysis than SPSS statistics!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it might seem pricey at first but the benefits far outweigh the costs!
Great for basic social science research
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can use drop down menus to run analyses in additional to writing syntax. The output is very easy to understand. This is a good beginning software for psychology research. There are many help forums on the internet to help with troubleshooting.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be challenging to learn the syntax to run more advanced analyses and the drop-down menus can be tedious. I wish there was a straightforward way to learn the syntax. Some of the names of the statistical analyses in the drop-downs do not align with terminology used in intro stats classes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running analyses to look at group differences, trends, and logistic regression in psychological research. It is very simple to learn initially.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good for basic statistics (t-tests, ANOVA, regression, etc)
Likelihood to recommend
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS is well suited to our survey data and analysis needs (but not data collection). It also works well for our data mining needs. Most of the staff I hire were exposed to SPSS in college, but either way, there is a learning period to understand how to document your work using Syntax (even if pasted from the menus) and I utilize mostly online resources to help them get up to speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
SPSS syntax is somewhat archaic, no doubt due to its long tenure and a desire to maintain backwards compatibility, so it may add to the learning curve for otherwise experienced script writers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS makes it easy for even beginner-level users to create statistical coding fields to support multidimensional analysis, ensuring that you never need to destructively modify your dataset.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very good platform for transforming the extracted data in a very sorted manner
Great statistical package for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
1)SPSS is well suited to our survey data and analysis needs (but not data collection). It also works well for our data mining needs.
2) SPSS widely used for data analysis, creating crosstab, creating tables etc.
3) Clear and user-friendly interface.
4) Potential to analyze large data sets.
5) SPSS has great resources online for syntax and defining certain functions/processes.
6) Compatible with IT infrastructures
7) Does almost any statistical testing, equations, or modeling desired.
8) Can save datasets into numerous other file extensions.

What do you dislike about the product?
For those requiring advanced procedures not on SPSS, programmable coding, like in R Statistics, may be more limited and not as robust and use of R or other programs might be needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) We use the Tables module a ton to create most of our crosstab kind of results, and SPSS gives you a lot of flexibility to create different kinds of tables with the same set of data.
2) Has all of the analytic capabilities we have needed so far (well, except for Random Forest).
3) Large dataset capability
4) Smooth modeling

Recommendations to others considering the product:
M SSPS is one of the best geospatial analysis tools on the market, possibly only exceeded by ArcGIS. It is very good with handling large and complicated datasets and manipulating these for statistical purposes. Unfortunately it can be a little non-user friendly and takes quite a bit of time to get used to.
The Best SPSS packager out there
What do you like best about the product?
IBM SPSS is one of the best tool for SPSS data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lags sometimes and has the occasional bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SPSS viewing is easy with IBM SPSS
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't look at anything else. You can blindly go for it.
Good for statistics but the options to run analysis need to be more clear
What do you like best about the product?
You are able to make charts and graphs from data easily which makes data visualization great. You can also customize those graphs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The options need to be more clear and better organized to run analyses. The organization sometimes leads one to take longer to run analyses than one needs to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am running statistical tests easily and able to produce more research which is important in academia.
Easier coding than other applications
What do you like best about the product?
Coding is fairly user friendly. Can make SPSS do so much if you k ow how to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the most user friendly. Look of interface is slightly outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cleaning data, special data runs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend, but be prepared for a significant learning curve if you have no experience
A Superior Platform for data analysis
What do you like best about the product?
SPSS Allows me to analyse data sets in a familiar format
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is somewhat complicated however after watching tutorials it is easy to familiarise yourself with eventually but it is set out in a similar format to rival software packages
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Analysis from online surveys
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research on the system, there are many great online tutorials
Useful but not as accessible
What do you like best about the product?
This software has made statistics so much easier. I've used it for data analysis, and I've used a variety of tests. It definitely has some advantages. All you need is to know which boxes to check and what tests to run.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, there are other more accessible softwares like R that use language as their coding tool. I would say SPSS is less accessible than R.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Statistical analysis
