Simple to use for stats
What do you like best about the product?
It easy to run just about any analysis using SPSS with a short learning curve. Since it has been around for a long time, there is a lot of helpful videos on how to use it to run specific analyses.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no issues or anything I have found to dislike about using SPSS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use SPSS for analyzing all of our data as I work at in research an academic institution. It has been simple to train students and staff on using the software.

Highly recommend this particular software for anyone needing to perform statistical tests.

Our customers use it to perform all sorts of statistical tests. They range from nurses to PhD-level statisticians.

What do you like best about the product?
Beyond some exciting analytical features (like power analysis enhancement, meta-analysis, and relationship map), the new Workbook mode is the most exciting feature. the syntax and output documents are merged into one dynamic document. each segment is called a paragraph. the paragraph will contain a syntax block and its relevant output. the syntax will render a new table or chart upon the old one if you modify it. this, in turn, will save you from deleting an unwanted chart/table saving you time and effort.
you can also add a rich text paragraph in between to describe your analytical process. for professional use this feature saves time and render the analytical process faster and clearer to a third-party user.

What do you dislike about the product?
The syntax paragraphs are missing breakpoints. if a paragraph contains several syntax commands you have to run them all together. there is no flow control. at best you can add an asterisk ("*") to render unwanted lines from running.
also, the rich test paragraph is quite basic- no hyperlink support, no JPEG, PNG, or any visual file support, editing bar is crude and basic. the right to left support is almost non-existent.

This software, with the right hands, can solve almost any data-related issue. the range is huge- government, medical, telecom, online gaming, psychology and sociology, and the list goes on and on. the novice and advanced data analyst or data scientist can benefit from this powerful tool.

It is the most accessible software to use, even with syntax.

Its price is too high. Freelancers cannot afford to pay to get such software.

I do much statistical work like data organization, descriptive analysis, correlations, crosstabs, regression, factor analysis, reliability analysis. That is, SPSS helps in survey data analysis and other tasks.
Outdated but still useful data analysis software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that this product is pretty user-friendly, and you do not have to have significant knowledge of computer programming or coding. It has a lot of functionality and can perform a wide variety of statistical tests, data visualizations, and summary statistics. I have never interacted with the support staff for this product but there is considerable information available on the internet.
What do you dislike about the product?
The output is pretty clunky and sometimes hard to read or parse apart. It is expensive, especially give the other, open-source and free products that are available.

As social scientists, we regularly need to perform statistical tests or graph results. SPSS helps us accomplish these tasks and perform work needed for conference presentations, journal articles, and even graduate classes.

SPSS utilizes point and click and syntax methods to complete statstics making it accessible for people at all skills levels

The graphing software of SPSS needs improvement

Cannot copy the outputs directly to word file. I have to take screen shot of outputs and paste to word file.

I use SPSS to analyze data related to nutrition and health. So I use descriptive analyses as well as comparison analyses, regressions ... Spss has all the analysis tests that I need for my analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
The application is easy to use and intutive for social science statistics. I also like the different visualization features that enhance communication with clients.

The license fee is expensive. There is also a restriction with the data type.

I mostly used the application for survey analysis as it fits for social science purposes. The diagrams and tables help organize and present the data for clients and teams.
