Low code platform outsystems

  • August 04, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
it is very flexible, l like that we designed a tool that builds good-looking apps and handles the entire software development life cycle. we can easily adopt.
What do you dislike about the product?
it is hard to change the overall platform time zone in the back end if you do not work in the default time zone of back-end services. we have limited UI designs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
my career starts with OutSystems I have learned a lot with OutSystems. we have a large community over here. whenever I have doubt community members are always there to help.

A ground-breaking tool

  • August 04, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
OutSystems is a very powerful and simple tool that can be used to develop any kind of application related to database management. Being a full-time consumer of this tool, I can recommend it by its practicality and by the diversity that it allows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about OutSystems is that it's not optimized to be used within a team with a big number of users. If I spend more than 20 minutes working on new developments, chances are that by the time of publishing the module there's already another version published by another member of the team and many times things appear broken and additional work has to be done to fix the problems caused by this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OutSystems has a lot of monitoring tools that we can use freely. I'd say almost all bug-fixing I've done was done using the debugger, log messages, integration logs, and many others. Bug-fixing was a real problem for me until I started to understand how to use these bug-fixing tools to my benefit.

Way towards Digitialization

  • August 04, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
very easy to manage applications even after development.
we have a service studio for development, a service center for configuration and managing applications like error management, an integration studio for integrating external databases and .net codes etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost all are good with OutSystems and nowadays they are providing a lot of updates to overcome anything that is not possible.
so far there are no issues to mention all are good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digitalization and Reducing the coding efforts.
normally coding will take more time like 4 months to develop the basic application but we can able to complete the same with in a month.

OutSystems Expert developer/teamlead/techlead

  • August 04, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Speed of delivery while still focussing on quality.
It's also a platform focussed on the whole development lifecycle. (ex. No need for third party tools for DevOps operations,...)
What do you dislike about the product?
The training video's are to much focussed on learning the concepts of the platform while not always following it's own best practices.
Example: CRUD wrapper actions are not used in training video's while it's a best practice.
It creates a risk that new developers on their first project are creating things without following the best practice while they are just following what they learned via the video's
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One platform for full development lifecycle.
No need to know 10 different frameworks to deliver something or to code.
Easy DevOps operations.
Which in general contributes to faster delivery and easier maintainability

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time Consumption :
Compared to traditional raw coding, Outsystems is far better at Creating Responsive Web applications and Mobile applications in less amount of time.

Build enterprise-grade applications very fast and with no limits!

  • August 03, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to learn and start developing applications very fast, allowing developers to start delivering value after a short training. It comes with many components and connectors out-of-the-box with the platform, and much more that are available in their marketplace for free. Applications developed with Outsystems are built in .NET and ReactJS, making them highly customizable as you can add custom code when you need it, both for the front-end and back-end.
What do you dislike about the product?
Versioning could be better as it doesn't allow branching, having several developers working in the same module in parallel is not as smooth as it should be. Aggregates (visually modelled databasase queries) does not support the IN operator, having to use advanced SQL each time you have to multivalue filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outsystems allows us to build, change and maintain applications very fast and with considerable less resources. In case something goes wrong, fixes can be deployed in minutes. It also let us quickly prototype and get feedback from users, facilitating agile development.
