Automatic password generation enhances security and simplifies access while a more intuitive search could improve efficiency

  • May 28, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

The use case in my organization for 1Password is to keep secure passwords and rotate passwords.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of 1Password is the one that automatically generates a password and MFA for me when I try to enter them, instead of going and hardcoding it.

The benefits to my organization of using 1Password are that we get more security and have one place with all the passwords instead of everyone having the same password again and again, so we can just rotate them.

What needs improvement?

I think 1Password is the best solution for passwords right now, despite having a lot of issues with other companies such as LastPass, and while I'm not really sure what to improve, maybe the search engine could be a little less confusing.

I would improve the search engine of 1Password to make it clearer or less confusing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using 1Password for five years.

What other advice do I have?

The pricing for individuals as personal users of 1Password is fine at around $3 per month.

I compare 1Password to LastPass and found that LastPass had a security breach a couple of years ago, which makes me feel I cannot count on them. We need to secure the passwords as a cybersecurity company, and we must have reliable solutions.

On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give 1Password an eight compared to other products.

I believe we can always find areas to improve, so an eight is good enough.

Enhanced security through unique password generation and storage

  • September 26, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

As a personal user, I use 1Password for managing my passwords.

How has it helped my organization?

1Password enhances security by generating and storing unique passwords. You only need to remember your master password, preventing the need to store passwords on a sheet of paper or in an unencrypted file on your computer.

What is most valuable?

1Password helps to generate unique passwords that you do not need to remember. The passwords are stored securely, and you only have to remember your master password. This ensures that you have unique passwords for all sites, significantly enhancing security.

What needs improvement?

There is always room for improvement. It could work better with different applications. Sometimes it fails to appear automatically, and you have to call it manually. While this is not a severe issue, it is an area for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using 1Password for several years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

1Password is pretty stable.

Very secure for storing passwords, keys, and secrets

  • May 16, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is most valuable?

1Password is very secure for storing all my passwords, keys, and secrets for work.

What needs improvement?

1Password should check and alert me if my information, such as my password or email address, has been sold on the internet. There is a function for that, but it's not very good or useful for me.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven’t faced any issues with the solution’s stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In our previous project, all of us used the solution. I pay for a family package, and my family also uses 1Password.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've previously used another password manager, LastPass, but it was hard to use and got hacked.

How was the initial setup?

The solution's initial setup is absolutely easy. You can easily install it from a browser or an app on your tablet, phone, or computer.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Users have to pay around five euros per year for the solution. 1Password is worth the money.

What other advice do I have?

1Password is deployed on the cloud, but you can also use it on-premises by downloading all the data from the cloud.

Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.
