Thoroughly enjoy 1Password

  • November 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The convenience and security. Apps work well on all platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally mobile app/web forms will not auto fill. Occasionally the iphone app will require typing the master password rather than accepting a finger print.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increasing the level of security across out accounts and safely sharing passwords between team members.

Great password manager

  • November 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of it, but the level of use for business. Dashlane and keeper were both super easy but not really designed for business. Lastpass is designed for business but is too expensive and there is lag between saving passwords and access to passwords sometimes. 1password is just easy to use, quick, and cheap.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not positive I have any dislikes. The only dislike is that its 1password and not onepassword but that has nothing to do with them. I just always search for onepassword when I start typing.
So far I need to dig in more but there isnt great organization. With all my experience there is some form of folder and maybe there is still and I am just missing it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my company it replaces a out of date password manager that has been on prem for a long time. This will allow us to have a more secure user friendly password manager.
For me personally I am looking to replace my current password manager, its slow and sometimes lags behind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In my mind there is 3 options for password managers. 1 password, bitwarden, and lastpass. There are a ton others, but while reviewing this is my list. All of these password managers are excellent for personal and business. I would say the order listed is how I would rank them. 1password is just a bit better for business.

Indispensable tool throughout every day

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Security design, excellent Mac app, multi-platform, great web app for the family/business cloud offering, 2FA support for 1Password itself as well as for the stored credentials in addition to the (obvious) passwords and user names.
What do you dislike about the product?
In a business setting like our with 50+ 1Password users doing user access recertifications takes time since you have to click through all vaults and user groups instead of having a central overview. The new command line make possible to build a script to retrieve this information, but that's DIY at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General (team) password manager benefits: safe storage of 10s to 100s of personal credentials and safe sharing between teams or project related work. 1Password stores files for safe sharing of confidential mass-data. Password managers enable having fully randomised, safe password only (!) which I don't want and actually can't remember. On the latter: 1Password additionally offers to create good passwords that are easy to remember in case you have to type them into e.g. devices, where you can't copy/paste (for me that are initial user passwords during laptop setup).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing sensitive information in one place.

1Password has a great interface for admins allowing for granular control over permissions

  • November 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Chrome plugin is fantastic; very easy to use and very intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface of the web console is a bit dated feeling. The search feature should be more inclusive and "free-form" instead of searching exactly what you type. If you search "temp password" it won't find any passwords in the vault that are titled "password temp". The Chrome plugin search feature does function properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outdated on-prem password manager. Moving users away from writing down passwords in notepad and excel documents.

The best password manager for businesses

  • November 10, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, highly customizable items (something I find lacking in Last Pass), group based permissions for larger setups, plenty of training material on their website, browser auto fill shortcut, web or desktop app or browser-add on only experiences available. The customer support team are very helpful if you ever have any queries, built in 2FA/OTP functionality facilitates the ability to add 2FA onto shared accounts where "true 2FA" isn't required.
What do you dislike about the product?
One could argue that the price is a little high but you get what you pay for, this is a premium product with all the features you'll need and a premium support backing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've improved security by banishing plain text password storage documents. Also, our onboarding process no longer involves writing out / printing out / sending out initial setup passwords.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend trialing/considering this product when you're evaluating a password manager for your business.

    Computer Software

Easiest security tool we use

  • November 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use. We rarely have questions about how to use the tool after an initial training and support is quick and helpful.
It makes offboarding easy; the usage report helps us understand which logins have been exposed to an exiting employee, so that these passwords can be changed.
We have complicated access rules, so the ability to segregate password access is easy.
For personal use, I greatly appreciate the ability to access my items on mobile.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have some niche needs, like automatic access expiration, that are not met yet. We recognize that this is a need unique to our team, but it would go a long way in making access management easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Offboarding is easier. We no longer have to spend a day changing all test user passwords when an employee leaves the organization. The usage report makes it easy to filter that effort to only when has been viewed or used.
Password security is stronger. 1Password keeps people out of spreadsheets, notebooks, Slack, and post-its. We are no longer fighting the habit of sharing passwords in a ppt deck or on a training room whiteboard.
Access management is simplified. We can easily see who has access to which org and remove folks as their necessity to view passwords expires.
Logging in is so much easier. The chrome add-on and mobile access is incredibly helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Commit to training employees. Its success is only in the full adoption from the team.
