Orange Logic enhancements for Adobe Creative Suite tools.
What do you like best about the product?
Orange Logic works closely with us to help optimize our workflow and is streamlining integrations with Adobe Creative Suite software. We can start projects in the DAM for Adobe and edit on our computer. When we save it in Adobe, it updates back into the DAM. Our creative team uses the DAM daily. We create a lot of short-form video digital advertising content.
We also have created custom views for our clients to search and download all their approved creative assets. Once you learn all the tools available, it is easier to use. Luckily the permissions and views for our clients are simplified, and they find the software to be user-friendly.
The Orange Logic team is very responsive with their ticketing system "Link" when questions are submitted to support. They let you know if it is an easy fix or has to go to development. I like that I can upload screen recordings of my questions, and they also share screen recordings with us to help troubleshoot. We also had weekly calls during implementation to ask questions and train.
The software updates around 3 times a year and always has nice enhancements with its updates.

What do you dislike about the product?
The implementation was longer than I thought it would be. The software is very robust and can do so much that it does take time to train. It isn't as intuitive as other DAMs for easy adoption. The cost is higher than other providers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Within the first year, we are storing over 14k in assets and have an unlimited number of users. It helps us to neatly store and search all assets while streamlining our production workflow. We have created custom metadata fields and visibility classes to help organize our content and work process. We researched DAMS for over 6 months and found that other DAMs were built for documents and photos, but Orange Logic is the best with video and Adobe native files and features had some nice offerings.
We like how we can tag, auto caption, and identify talent, and store contract asset rights with alerts when rights are close to expiring. Orange Logic also helps create custom integrations. Their Adobe Integrations are decent to other DAMs, and have continually been updating them. Orange Logic also has options for establishing workflow triggers and forms, but at an additional cost for help implementing it. There are many options and features beyond what we are currently utilizing, but the price for those is high.

Best DAM out there. PERIOD.
What do you like best about the product?
OrangeLogic is the only Digital Asset Management Platform (DAM) worth using.
They are the only few DAMs that offer:
• Asset AI Meta Tagging for Video and Image
• Best for enterprise companies, small & large, don't get charge by the user seat.
• White Glove service, every business is unique and they were the only solution that offered what we needed and how we wanted it to be customized for our company.
• Easy to use platform and it does the work itself, I spend 1 hour a week managing everything.
• Custom Integrations with our Software and Online Tools.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I was unhappy with was the time it took them to create our DAM system, but after the time it took to get it up and going, I can proudly say it was worth the wait for the setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving time with:
• Licensing/Approvals/Usage Rights on all our Assets
• AI Metatagging
• Folder Structure Organization
• Source of Truth for the entire company and our partners to access all our Assets, and track where they are used and who used them.
• Elimated shoulder tapping from coworkers in other organizations.
The time saved with Orange Logic alone has increased my team's efficiency and the company resources.

Powerful, configurable system that is flexible for the future
What do you like best about the product?
Both the front and back-end of the OL DAM are intuitive. Users are walked through choices in a clear fashion, which helps with things like requesting assets and sharing files.
What do you dislike about the product?
The 'infinite configuration' is a bit of a challenge for, as it gives you ALOT to wade through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a great deal of content being generated, as this is the primary location for our performing arts organization. This is the centralized location for this content, which can be shared easily with both internal and external users.
Orange Logic's Cortex - Enterprise DAMS Review
What do you like best about the product?
Cortex is a comprehensive and intuitive enterprise DAMS platform. Orange Logic has a strategic and well-thought-out onboarding process. We have been thrilled with the platform, and business customer experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
No major blind spots that we have discovered!!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has provided us with an enterprise asset repository that is easily searchable and discoverable.
Finally a DAMS that works!
What do you like best about the product?
Cortex makes it easy to upload, share, and download media files. It integrates with the Adobe suite and allows for our creative team to work remotely off proxy files. It's a flexible platform, and our integration team has been a joy to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm getting really nit-picky here, but I'd love for Cortex to support additional S3 storage tiers to save money on our cloud storage bill. It's on their roadmap though
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company works with lots of video files, and we didn't have a great place to keep them. We had a local storage server that almost died multiple times due to power surges and we almost lost everything. We originally were going to use a different DAM solution but when Covid hit and everyone was working remotely we couldn't edit videos over the VPN. Cortex integrates with Premiere so our team can edit off of low resolution proxy files and export the final video at high resolution.
Great staff and customer support
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating multiple metadata mappings and the ability to batch edit on every field are considerable upsides to Cortex. These features work with relative ease compared to other products I've used over the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can tell that Cortex was built to accommodate a wide variety of use cases. While that may play well for Orange Logic in attracting customers, it can be an overbearing product for end users. It took me several months to wade through the sea of Cortex functionality and hone in on what worked for my needs. Once you get through that, the product does well, but it feels like Cortex tries to be too many things at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Digital files often live on personal computers or drives, which is fine for a while but causes problems during staff turnover. We needed a way for files to belong to the organization and for staff to collaborate on projects.
Orange Logic: CORTEX | DAM provides superior customer service and product
What do you like best about the product?
Orange Logic provides a ticketing system, Link, where I can raise a defect, request an enhancement or ask a question. I can prioritize from critical to normal or long-term. I can also review the tickets I've submitted to see their status. Even tickets that have been answered remain in my account, so I can check them at any time. This history helps me anticipate future enhancements and provides a broad and detailed picture of our digital asset management system over the years.
What do you dislike about the product?
This product is very granular and complex. I know I'm missing out on some of the features simply because I am the only power user at my organization, and I don't have the time to delve into it all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since the pandemic, my organization has been closed to outside research, and I don't see that situation changing in the next five years. Digitization fills in the gap to collections access, and I can't imagine doing it without a superior digital asset management system like CORTEX | DAM. It is so easy to bulk upload thousands of images and corresponding metadata. I can also make bulk changes to the catalog records.
Orange Logics Cortex works well as a DAM
What do you like best about the product?
The platform's asset management system works well. Batch editing for sets of assets is very quick and easy to use and being able to clean out old data is helpful. Calculator while a tad clunky to set up is very robust once running
What do you dislike about the product?
The only two things I find as a fault of the platform are when the use case sits slightly outside of its scope and future-proofing. We use the platform for both consumer and professional cases and while this is well suited to professional users, the need for every customer to have a login can be limiting for a consumer user who just wants to come on and purchase one print and will probably not be back again. I realise this use case is not the majority for this type of platform so it shouldn't detract from the overall score but one thing that I still find a little frustrating is the inability to have good quality use on mobile platforms. This might be once again a consumer use case type issue but not being able to simply adapt the site to be mobile and tablet friendly is a little bit of a pain and while it is coming along in most recent releases it is still very far away from where I would expect it to be in 2022. Coming from an e-commerce background and being able to edit sites with CSS to achieve a solid responsive design was what I was expecting when starting work on this platform but it needs to be said that the ability to edit templates outside of specific fixed templates is actually near impossible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to showcase all Assets of different types and make them available to customers easily and quickly for purchase is great. Exactly what you want in a platform like this. It is not our main DAM but rather our gateway for the public to access our Assets for purchase or licensing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Development work that sits even slightly outside of an issue or fault with the platform regardless of if it will benefit other users outside your organisation sits outside the scope of work with Orange Logic. Things requested will always cost money up front and then a percentage in fees for every invoice issued after that. We have improvements that sit on our invoices almost a decade later that was paid off in the original invoice but it is one more way they make money along the way. There is no hard in this but good to know before deciding on a platform or partner for your DAM.
UN Photo DAM powered by Orange Logic
What do you like best about the product?
Powerful search engine, intuitive interface, flexible metadata management and digital assets control covering the full lifecycle of UN digital photo management, as well as robust cyber security and good integration with Amazon Web Services for online storage and deep archive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The regular upgrades for new versions of Cortex in a year can be positive by patching bugs and resolving issues from previous versions, but in some cases cause changes to the production site and add confusion to the end-users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cortex has been the ICT standard for UN Photo DAM which has improved the management of digital photos for its SaaS solution, flexible and scalable, easy maintenance and robust cost-effective storage management solution via AWS.
Incredibly Flexible Global DAM
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility within Cortex is by far its greatest strength. Orange Logic serves a broad base of customers across a wide variety of industries, and with this, the tool is robust and able to be configured to meet the needs of any organization. Updates are released on a regular basis, and with this, the system continues to evolve with more and more new features and stability enhancements, making the platform stronger with every passing quarter.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system's greatest strength is also its greatest weakness: the flexibility and configurability. Because it is so flexible, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to craft an ideal user experience. Most clients do not have this capability, and so my recommendation would be to hire a consultant or agency that specializes in this sort of work for initial implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are connecting staff across the world to share content in real-time, and this is especially true when a new emergency strikes around the world. Because of Cortex, we are able to gather content and instantly share it with thousands of staff, who then deploy the content across our various channels.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Focus more on functionality that currently exists rather than bespoke customization. There is a lot that can be quickly done and deployed using simple configurations, and the configuration team is fast and responsive. Only do custom development when absolutely necessary and essential.
