Innovative Solutions!
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the flexibility of the system and the innovative solutions that are in place for common storage and searching needed. I also like that the system has great documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that some updates can take a while based on what category they are in, but that is standard for most companies, so I understand it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Orange Logic solves the problem of sharing one single source of truth that can be updated and allow users to always have the most up to date version.

A flexible and robust DAM service
What do you like best about the product?
I use Orange DAM daily and there are so many different features to accommodate different workflows and team needs. I am also impressed with some of the features for specific file types, like auto-captioning for audio files or automatically tagging images about their content to aid in searching later. Orange Logic also responds quickly to questions we have and issues we raise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of all the things that Orange DAM can do, it can be complex to set up certain features. Administrators should be tech savvy as there are a lot of systems and facets to be aware of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company needed a DAM that could suit the needs of different departments, like marketing, media development, and product management. We also needed to share files stored on the DAM with external customers, which Orange DAM does very well.
Suits our complex needs
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Orange Logic for a very long time and for our extremely complex organisation it's hard to know what else would work to our bespoke needs. Even then it feels like we barely scratch the service of what is possible with this software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of any core part of our business is more of an issue than ever these days and often comes into question by the powers that be who would prefer an off the shelf DAM but i think for what we need it's worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a large archive of images with various restrictions, visibilty and royalty settings and very particular shareholders. Without the ability to customise using OL's setup then many key parts of our business would not be possible
An optimal DAM solution for robust demands
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve used Cortex since version 1 in the early 2000s to the current version. As we were an early adopter of the database, it was set up around some of our working protocols, such as how we managed the difference between Stories and Albums and how it seamlessly integrated our 75 year catalogue numbering system. The system’s flexibility is beneficial on so many levels as we can usually find good workarounds for most new tasks for anything it cannot do.
What do you dislike about the product?
More control over the reports such as adding columns when needed, created more bespoke reports based on chosen criteria. Security profiles, permissions and workflow functions can be challenging to work out, but overall the system is excellent, especially compared to others on the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have a clear and direct log of licensing use (by invoice) and associated portfolios/presentations at the asset level. Furthermore, the flexibility and customization of the DAM structure and finance-related functions allows us to shift internally without fear of OL not being able to generate solutions.
A highly customisable database for managing digital assets
What do you like best about the product?
Orange DAM does everthing we need and a whole lot more. I particularly like using the already familiar library system for organising our video and image assets. Ingesting new work is quick and easy and there are a ton of features built in to manage the assets once they are uploaded.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a bit of a learning curve. I've used the platform for many years and still I find myself referring to the training manual from time to time. I would place an intuitive UI over additional features - no one likes a training manual!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Orange DAM is a repository for all our digital assets, a vast archive of images spanning the past 75 years. The platform allows us to efficiently organise and manage everything in the back end from storage, to display, to licensing. The search functionality on the front end is very good, our clients are able to find what they need quickly with the minimum amount of fuss.
Orange Logic Cortex user for nearly 30 years
What do you like best about the product?
We've used Cortex since the days when it was called Teldin in the 1990s. Best features are it's flexibility as there's often more than one way to solve a problem, the support is timely, fair and always clearly communicated, it integrates seemlessly with our own production protocols which were created pre-Cortex and generally has twice as many features as we'll ever need. The way new features are pooled from Cortex clients into the core product is very helpful. Previously we created bespoke functions, but most of these have been absorbed into the core product. Also, the team are very knowledgeable on how we use the database, which is an advantage as there's so much complexity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some admin functions such as security profiles and workflows can be quite complex to set up. Static page editing could also be improved, but this could be related our bespoke design elements. The Help guides are improving, so self-service is getting easier, but it's complexitty means you sometimes need to consult staff beyond the online recommendations. Upgrades can be difficult if your version carries bespoke functionality or design, but the team are knowledgeable and always aware of your version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a photo agency and library, Cortex is our database of record for our media archive and all B2B services. Every department uses Cortex as media content is the core of all activities - we also have other software managing shops, commercial portfolios, education & learning, print sales management, but all rely in the media assets in Cortex. It integrates much of our activity to invoicing and project management.
A robust and complete DAM solution that requires to be well designed ahead
What do you like best about the product?
Orange Logic (OL) offers a complete DAM solution that can be customized directly by our system administrators and DAM Ops once they get the proper knowledge. Even if it can be a bit complex to understand at first as it has been built to adapt to any scenario, the documentation is complete and well organized, and OL remains well involved and close to its clients. Cortex is solid, is supports the load for our thousands of users daily, we've barely met a bug, allowing us to focus on refining our processes, fine tuning the functionnalities being proposed natively and focusing on the onboarding. We exploit only a part of what is available but the potential is huge, especially when you look for automation and Marketing Resource Management. It integrates well in our ecosystem, thanks to all the native connectors and its API first approach.
What do you dislike about the product?
By experience, I would recommend to spend the necessary time to understand well the solution and comes with a clear set of requirement so that it can be translated in the solution with the right customization. Being assisted by a consulting company that would manage this translation between your proceses and Cortex may be a good idea. Although most of the DAM features are intuitive (download, upload, share ...), the security requires to allocate enough time to be properly set but I guess it is quite common with DAM solutions, and the navigation can be disturbing at first everything is an asset there (a project, an digital asset, a person ...) so the navigation feels the same everywhere and you could get lost. Do not plan to build everything all at once (DAM and MRM), it can become quite complex quickly. But really this is a matter of time, investment and method. The solution is really worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Orange Logic, we were looking to replace our legacy DAM and to enrich this scope with MRM so that we can execute an end-to-end process, covering the entire lifecycle of our digital assets, consistently and with limited frictions.
A great DAM
What do you like best about the product?
Orange DAM can be customized for any need and is user friendly. The implementation team was helpful and provided excellent support. The customer support team is very responsive. The regular updates ensure that stakeholders never fall behind.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an administrator, I would like to be able to do some of the customizations on my own. I appreciate the excellent customer support but at times, I wish I could do some tweaks without bothering them.

Great DAM, great service
What do you like best about the product?
OrangeDAM is a great, robust DAM that provides its users and administrators lots of different options to manage and present data and assets. It's very user-friendly, is easy to pick up without much training, and their support staff has been incredibly responsive to our needs. The Orange Logic team have been around to answer our questions and concerns regarding implementation, daily use, and have just been great to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system is robust and quite powerful, but there is a learning curve involved with using OrangeDAM on the back-end. The documentation covers most of what we need, though there are times when we've had to consult with their operations and support staff because our issues aren't covered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a responsive, quick, front-facing digital asset manager as a way to present our assets and data to public users. OrangeDAM provides that in a quick, easy-to-use software.
Best DAM for customization
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of customization is great. There are limits that can be roadblocks but overall most fuctions are as expected. Being able to impersonate a users is the best admin feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is alot to learn and a legacy of configuration options that are not always the most straight forward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Levels above other highly configurable enterprise DAM systems. Orange DAM helps manage photography assets and photography rights.
