Great CI to use with your applications

  • August 26, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to understand and helps you with your CI/CD. It performs well, as expected. One of the best I have ever used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike. It has no mayor flaws. The only thing is that sometimes it takes too long to run the jobs, and if you have a set of micro services being deployed at the same time, it will create a queue that can take long to process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem that I solve with CircleCI is the CI/CD for my applications. It helps me work with automated deployments and integrations, and keep all the projects coordinated with my teammates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is great, but keep in mind to pay for a better plan if you have a set of micro services.

awesome service

What do you like best about the product?
I cherish that it is so natural to convey an open store to a private server while concealing all delicate substance. Travis CI does not take into consideration this. The constructs are additionally essentially quicker than different stages, and the UI is current not normal for a portion of different contenders. I am astounded this isnt progressively prominent among open source networks as it is basically free for both private and open stores.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times I keep running into issues with an obsolete reserve, and I need to revamp the get together physically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use CircleCI to robotize running test suites on our product items as a feature of our ordinary programming advancement life cycle. Having tests pursued naturally pushing submits gives us certainty to discharge early and discharge frequently, and furthermore to recognize issues from the get-go in the product improvement cycle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take it, it will spare you alot of times and diligent work

Works fine for small teams

  • May 15, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to setup, it supports on project configuration by yaml config file. It is possible to use a range of tools for the complete CI workflow, from source checkout, maven project build, test and deploy to different stages. Its more than enough for projects written on languages that are not memory hunger like Java. They give you 4GB of memory to build your project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it takes too long to build, and some features are only available if you pay much more for it. The basic profile is only capable to attend small teams. If you have more people working on the project, doing a lot of commits, you may need to pay much more for it to work.
We have faced a lot of out of service problems on the last couple of months, down times that were critical to the project.
It's very difficult to build an Android project, as it requires a lot of memory to build, specially because the Gradle builder is memory hunger.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementing the continuous delivery workflow. From build to test and deploy phases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it when you have a small team, or if it fits your budget, buy the higher profile. But make sure you have tested it with multiple users in one project and check the down times and time it takes to build and run all the required steps in your pipeline before buying the full version of the service.

Catching conflicts between repos and within the code base before the code goes to QA

My favorite Continuous Integration tool

  • March 24, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's been very easy to get up and going with CircleCI and the dashboard is very easy to follow and intuitive to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
For what I've worked on, I have no complaints with CircleCI at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for continuous integration, building Docker images of our applications, and uploading those to DockerHub automatically. It's been a wonderful experience with using their system.

Continuous Integration made easy!

  • January 30, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
The integration of CircleCI with github is very seamless. It took little effort to add git repos to the circleci projects. Also the circleci interface is quite slick. For Jobs, you can easily tab between the Test Summary, Queue, Artifacts Configuration and Timing! I am using version 2.0. I can't compare to the previous version, but so far I have to say this is much much easier to setup and run from scratch, compared to say Jenkins on prem. Last but least, you can send the results (Pass or Fail) -- and the link to it on the circleCI site -- via a Slack channel :)
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't run into any cons thus far. Migrating from CircleCI 1.0 to 2.0 constructs can be a challenge at times, but if starting with 2.0 version, then it's great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Continuous integration, builds and test runs of code commits. The runs (jobs) and results have been quick and easy to consume thus far. Best part is not having to maintain a CI server like Jenkins.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good time to start with CircleCI with their 2.0 release! Make sure to take advantage of their docker container setup to run and test your code.

Great for production deployment

  • December 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's ease of use. It automatically takes our master branch and runs all the necessary tests to make sure everything integrates smoothly in our production branch
What do you dislike about the product?
At times it would fail due to some deployment errors, but the issues are usually easy to fix
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since there are many developers in the team, using this tool has prevented many bugs from being merged into production, which could cause our app to crash and malfunction, possibly making us lose customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great service that could save you a future headache

Be aware that you will be waiting on some parts

  • July 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quick setup time.
Powerful configuration system.
Great UI
What do you dislike about the product?
No shared environment variables for projects within the same organization.
No shared project configuration for projects, it quite tiring setting slack notifications for each project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduced build times
Custom CI/CD workflows
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to go through the configuration docs, lots of gems hidden in there.
