What do you like best about the product?
Dremio has the most powerful data analytics i have ever seen which makes it get easy to analyze our data in depth and acquire very comprehensive insights. Its SQL engine has a simple and clean interface that allows us to easily navigate through. Dremio has also shown great flexibility which made it possible to adjust its setup in order to match with our specified needs. The customer support team assigned to us has been generously helpful and has impressed us by responding to our requests quickly enough. Dremio has extreme security functions that allows us to access, work on and analyze our data safely without making them vulnerable to any security breaches. Dremio allows us to analyze our data from where they live whether on cloud or any other environment with no need to first transfer them. It has been offering lightning fast performance speeds that allows us to analyze, query data and get results in an instance. Dremio reporting tools are very efficient and has been giving us an easy experience generating insightful reports for our data. Dremio compatibility with multiple data sources has enabled us to integrate and connect it with every data source we have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dremio has impressed in all areas of our great concern and we are happy with the experience we are having. We have genuinely lacked anything negative to complain about Dremio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dremio is offering us the most suitable and reliable experience analyzing our data. It allows us to analyze our data from where they are without the extra steps of having to transfer them. It makes it really fast to analyze data from any data sources and help acquire results almost in an instant.

Simple and easy to use but limited feature.
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is intuitive and It’s easy to connect to data sources. SQL editor is helpful. Setup was straightforward and simple.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacks advanced in analytics tools. Updates are slow and time taking. Some connectors missing and I wish it had more built in functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me quickly access data for reporting purposes. We can generate reports faster than past.
A modern Data Lake Platform
What do you like best about the product?
With its In memoru Columnar engine we can process the data query at a very enhance speed. We use it with many data lakes but mostly with amzaon web services.

The customersupport is quite limited. I dont have any issues apart from that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to manage clean and organize big and large amounts of data. its really efficient and that makes it one of the best data as a service software.

Sharing data is simple. allows for a quantity of users. an asset to any squad. It is possible for us to share data sets.

requires more accurate guides. it can be difficult to handle permissions at times.

dremio allows us to work together on data projects in an effective manner. our workflow has been greatly enhanced.
Dremio intelligent but hard to setup.
What do you like best about the product?
it let me qucikly data from a lot of places. i like that it works with SQL, new features improve performance. it works well with other tools we use. the security features top notch.

All the good but intial setup is complicated. there are times when i get mistakas i dont understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dremio helps me quickly use big data lakes tom learn new things. there is no need for IT help every time i work with data because of it.
Modern Data Platform Analytics engine
What do you like best about the product?
Very fast. Supports Apache Iceberg as well as regular parquet file based tables. Supports large workload - we are running 500,000 queries reading 2PB of data daily. Arrow Flight is another great technology utilized by Dremio that increases end to end data pipeline peeformance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dremio still has a few issues left that need to be polished out.

Dremio processes large volume of data to deliver financial analytics to a broad range of our data platform consumes.

What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
Dremio has resolved my data lineage and data governance problems. The solution has also resolved the data availability for a different range of users, which used to be a problem.
What is most valuable?
Dremio allows querying the files I have on my block storage or object storage. The solution gives me a place where I can play around with the data virtually by creating VDSs or PDSs. Dremio works just like a data warehouse on top of my data lake, which is interesting.
What needs improvement?
Dremio's interface is good, but it has a few limitations. I cannot do a lot of things with ANSI SQL or basic SQL. I cannot use the recursive common table expression (CTE) in Dremio because the support page says it's currently unsupported.
The use case I am working on requires building trees and hierarchical structures. Most of the time, it requires complex nested data structures to be made simpler for end users. It would be good if Dremio could provide a way to create trees just like Oracle does using commands like CONNECT BY and NO CYCLE.
You can use a few languages to simplify complicated JSON and XML. It would be very helpful if Dremio could provide a solution to simplify building trees and building meaningful data from complex data.

We implemented the solution through an in-house team. Dremio's deployment can be done quickly.

Overall, I rate Dremio ten out of ten.
Quick database capabilities but sometimes shows minor errors
What is our primary use case?
I can visualize traffic from BI and Tableau on the same page and have my tables and schema on the same page. The data link comprises everything. If I want one structure, I connect it to a big table in the hive and the data team that could read my SQL work on my tables, schemas, table structures and everything all in one place. Dermio is as good as any other Presto engine.
How has it helped my organization?
Everyone uses Dremio in my company; some use it only for the analytics function.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is that you can generate refresh reflections and create your visuals (VDS) because it makes it easier to monitor day-to-day data structure. I can use Dermio to create a visual table without impacting the original by creating an opportunity on my own. I can work on my videos and create reflections, and Dremio allows me to use those reflections. I can know the health of my tables, whether healthy or unhealthy, daily. It is one of the most valuable features of Dremio.
What needs improvement?
One of the areas of improvement is that a table does not break and shows errors. When the 23rd version was released, I had to contact Dermio customer support, and they suggested I update the database to run the table. Sometimes you face common errors like tables running strictly and taking time to run. I think Dermio can improve this part.
An additional feature can be a feature where everyone can see the tables.

I would rate the scalability an 9/10 because it shows errors sometimes.

The initial setup was straightforward.

The deployment was in-house, and only two to three people were involved. We had direct Dermio support communication to support us. We have both cloud and in-house deployment methods.

With Dremio its not a loss
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Every tool has a value based on its intended purpose and use, and the pricing is worth its value.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We tested some other options but Dremio proofs to be better in terms of reliability and scalability, so we submitted our reports and reviews.
What other advice do I have?
I suggest that you give it a try and see for yourself. Dremio is as fast as Presto. For example, ten billion rows can return in less than five seconds.

I like how easy it is to get the data ready w/o going through the ETL/ELT process.

They don't have their own BI too. You have to connect to the 3rd party tools.
