Simple and powerful

What do you like best about the product?
We've used Loadbalancer.org's appliance extensively for TCP load balancing, SSL offloading, and both Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing. What stands out is how simple and fast it is to operate. The web interface is clean, and all the essential features are easily accessible without having to dig deep into complex menus. Despite the simplicity, it also supports more advanced configurations for those who need them. We've deployed it in AWS with high availability, and HA has worked flawlessly. Overall, it's been rock solid and reliable in production.

Their support is excellent—they reply quickly and are very knowledgeable. We also deployed the appliance via a CloudFormation template in AWS, and the process was very easy.

Setup of new virtual services is also very easy. I especially like the clone option, which makes it simple to add new ports based on existing configurations.
I also like the logic of how it recognises that the backend server is the same, even across multiple ports, and offers to disable all ports for that backend server—this is very helpful during maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the core functionality is excellent, visibility during issues is limited. The logs, reports, and graphs are fairly basic and lack deeper insight. Email alerts are not very customizable—you either receive too much or miss what you actually care about. This isn't a major problem when things are running smoothly (which is almost always the case), but during a troubleshooting scenario, you'd want more granular monitoring and alerting options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides reliable load balancing across multiple application servers, which ensures high availability and performance for our services. The ability to recognize backend servers across multiple ports and offer to disable all related ports during maintenance is especially useful, making the process safer and more streamlined.

Load Balancer Enterprise ADC Experience -Reliable, Scalable, and Easy to Manage – Great ADC Solution

  • June 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We recently implemented Load Balancing (LB) in our platform solution and wanted to share our experience. The Application Delivery Controller (ADC) has greatly enhanced performance consistency, even under high traffic conditions. By efficiently distributing incoming traffic, it has significantly reduced downtime and eliminated bottlenecks across our critical services.

The management dashboard is clean and intuitive, making it straightforward to configure load balancing rules, health checks, SSL offloading, and more. The solution has also scaled seamlessly as our traffic increased, supporting both horizontal and vertical scaling with minimal effort.

The documentation is thorough, and the support team has been exceptionally responsive. What truly stood out was the level of dedication from their team—they not only provided suggestions and recommendations, but also tested our solution in their own lab environment to offer a tailored fix. This is a level of support and engagement we haven't experienced with any other NLB vendor.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing and pricing model can be somewhat opaque, particularly when scaling out or enabling premium features. A more transparent and detailed breakdown would greatly assist with budgeting and capacity planning. Additionally, configuring advanced features—such as custom health checks or content switching—can be challenging without comprehensive documentation or prior experience. While the built-in monitoring tools offer basic metrics, gaining deeper operational insights typically requires integration with third-party monitoring solutions.

Enhancing Availability and Performance with Load Balancer Enterprise ADC in Philips PACS Solutions

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the performance, scalability, and reliability of our Philips PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) platform, we recently integrated a Load Balancer Enterprise ADC into our infrastructure. This implementation has proven instrumental in addressing several key challenges and delivering measurable benefits across our services.
Improved Availability and Resilience

One of the primary advantages we've observed is the significant improvement in service availability. The ADC ensures that incoming traffic is intelligently distributed across multiple backend servers, effectively eliminating single points of failure. This has enabled high availability for our critical web services, even under fluctuating load conditions.
Efficient Traffic Distribution and Scalability

By balancing traffic dynamically based on server load and health status, the ADC has allowed us to scale more efficiently. This is particularly critical in healthcare environments, where access to imaging and records must remain uninterrupted. As demand grows, the system adapts in real time, maintaining consistent performance without manual intervention.
Health Monitoring and Failover

Built-in health monitoring and automatic failover capabilities have significantly reduced unplanned downtime. In the event of a server failure or degraded performance, traffic is seamlessly rerouted to healthy nodes—ensuring service continuity and minimizing recovery time during incidents.
Operational Efficiency

Beyond technical gains, the ADC has also reduced the operational burden on our engineering teams. With centralized traffic management, automated failover, and better observability, we spend less time firefighting and more time focusing on innovation and service improvements.

Conclusion:
The integration of Load Balancer Enterprise ADC has been a pivotal step in modernizing our infrastructure. It’s enabled us to deliver a more stable, responsive, and resilient PACS platform to healthcare professionals, ultimately improving patient care by ensuring consistent access to vital imaging data

What do you like best about the product?
The Loadbalancer.org ADC product is bulletproof and very reliable. It is fairly easy to setup even with custom configurations, we currently are running 2 units in a HA pair virtulized. The support on this product is second to none. Before purchasing a license, I was able to test this product, as both stand alone and in a HA setup, 3 times. All 3 times support was there if needed. We had tested 2 other products before purchasing a license for Loadbalancer.org. We are appreciative of the support provided by Loadbalancer.org and happy we went with their solution. I highly recommend Loadbalancer.org for any load balancing needs they support.
