A reliable and easy to use product
What do you like best about the product?
XProtect can run for months without any human intervention. Solid, reliable and ever ready. After 12 years of use, I am still finding features that meet our new, growing needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licencing system is clunky. Support via the re-seller can take a while. You get what you pay for - and hence it is pricey.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
24/7 protection of staff and assets.
Switching To Rhombus was a No Brainer!!
What do you like best about the product?
Xprotext was user friendly and easy to navigate through setup was basic as well as easy to export needed videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
the least helpful thing about Xprotect would be the retention time is not that great. our company needs longer retention times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
xprotect is keeping our team members safe and allowing us to watch not only the team members but also the robots on the floor. business performance has increased and machines stay running longer now because we can see an issue before it ever happens.
Video surveillance software that manages 190+ cameras
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and the custom creation of user accounts allows us to pass along specirfic permissions and access to end users. Also, the export process and ability to pull footage from multiple cameras is seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing.! We must go through a reseller to add licensing to any new cameras into our system. The process typically takes more than a week. Must plan accordingly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is excellent for managing and viewing lots of cameras. It has continued to grow with us as we have increased our camera count. We are able to continue to custom create views to help users see the additional cameras
Recommendations to others considering the product:

XProtect is a solid product, but leave something to be desired
What do you like best about the product?
XProtect works well when it is up and running correctly. It allows you to easily see multiple cameras from multiple locations, set up custom views, and easily export video for security needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The server licensing is expensive (especially for back license costs), and the server tends to struggle when several users are logged in. We had to set a task to reboot the server every night in order to kick everyone out of the system who doesn't log out, otherwise, the video lags and audio/video do not sync correclty.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the system to monitor security cameras and export video for both discipline and occasional police requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Either set up some way to log everyone out of the system, or set a task to reboot the server when not in use. If you have several users this will cause latency issues.
