Best VMS solution I know
What do you like best about the product?
Very scalable from a free version with a few cameras to muti sites with a huge number of camera.
Most camera are suported.

Can integrate most of existing camera.
Cloud version need some imrpovement but solve lot of security requirement in enterprise network

What do you like best about the product?
The reliablity of the software and hardware is top tier.
What do you dislike about the product?
When upgrading the server seems to take longer then needed.

Having my staff be able to quicky review cameras and customize views to help with monitoring.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, storage, cameras, functionality all there in the Management Client.
Easy to add users, AD groups to Roles and these Roles is easy to devout specific cameras to each individual Role.
Support is outstanding as well, we have a Premium service account though which may sway support for our company I suspect.

What do you dislike about the product?
If your system has many cameras (150 or more) finding it is difficult thru the Servers-->Recording Servers--> Recording Server Name
And using that Floating Filter above the Recording Server is painful as it is movable and after initializing will not return back to default unless reverting to "Reset Application Layout" then closing and reopening the Management Client.
Also I used to use the Management Client "System Monitor" to view which cameras are using the most disk space... Now after viewing it I cannot double click "Used Space" and have it auto sort by the lowest or even the highest metrics. I have to export it to an Excel spreadsheet to do that.

We are a manufacturer of disposable plates, cups, trays, lids, utensils... and have implemented certain automation where boxes of product flow to be shipped or stored. We have used Milestone to monitor these conveyors and the video has been instrumental in it's inplementation.
Also we have setup robot's (AMR, Autonomous Mobile Robots) that can move huge pallets of product from Manufacturing to Warehouse, where we used to use personel forklifts to move. Milestone video (Live and Playback has been instrumental in trouble shooting when these robots go astray or fail to operate for whatever reason.
Besides the capturing of video of when a worker may get injuried for HR or a car crash in one of our plants parking lots at any of our 25 plants across the country.

The management client may require some upgrades mostly in the configuration reports.
for example: cannot extract cameras per server
Roles are very difficult to explain/understand - lots of pages are extracted.
If I need to send a report who has access to playback or export, the report is infinite without the
possibility to filter in excel.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since i'm not in the security department - I only focus on the system operation and health.
However, for our security department, they use it in most of the incidents and being very simple to search and export, makes it easier to solve issues.

What do you like best about the product?
Managing my assets is what I like most about Xprotect, among many other items.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with all VMS systems, disk management is something that bothers me, but it is very advanced compared to its competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Clearly, saving on image storage is an important consideration, but analytics are a significant advantage that Milestone XProtec is providing me.
Intelligent Visibility with Milestone Xprotect
What do you like best about the product?
Its ease in tracking and monitoring the organization's surveillance cameras provides an intuitive interface that allows for quicker access to the visibility of any important camera for the organization, as well as customization ease and effective support from its engineers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are very few things that I don't see as favorable in Milestone, perhaps its price is not so accessible for some companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Milestone helped us improve the visibility of the recordings and live video from the organization's cameras, but above all, it helped us with the problem of generating videos for the state entities that requested information from us, which was very difficult to search for in the previous tool.

Large Systems with redundancy and vendor independent Hardware. Many Solution Partner in Place.

Interface is a bit dated and newer video export formats such as h.265 would be helpful.
