First hand experience review of Milestone Xproject!
What do you like best about the product?
Its a great tool for managing security feed storage and devices from centralised dashboard and easy to manage and configure. I like its footage quality with all lighting conditions even low lighting. And it supports advanve capturing like motion detection.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it exactly fullfilling as per requirement although its third party integration settings can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Milestone Xproject has been really excellent in managing the security feeds in our company.It helps us in timely surveillance of the necessary locations in firm for better security measures.
Powerful Video Surveillance Packed with Features
What do you like best about the product?
The video quality is impressive, providing clear footage even in low-light conditions. Its scalability is another key feature, making it adaptable as our organization grows. Features like motion detection and advanced analytics allow for targeted surveillance. Milestone XProtect's customer support has been responsive and knowledgeable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The setup process can be challenging and time-consuming. Certain third-party integrations require additional; setup which adds complexity and requires some technical assistance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform has enabled us to monitor multiple locations remotely, which has increased our efficiency and allowed us to respond much faster.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like its wide integration with multiple ranges of cameras and devices and also it is very customizable as per requirement. I like its simple user interface which makes it easy to track and reacess footage without problem. I mainly want to mention its excellent stability and realiability.
What do you dislike about the product?
With this tool we find no issue in our working time althought customizations can be made more easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Milestone Xproject takes our security surveillance issue in its hand and managed all integrated devices very efficiently. The most required feature is ability to add motion sensor , ai based seaching and analytics reporting which comes very handy in our job.

The GUI for the Smart Client is fluent, easy to use and asthetically pleasing.
What do you dislike about the product?
When databases break which then causes Recording Server to break.

Issues with a corrupt Database on our Archive Drive.

One minor point is that there is a bit of a learning curve to fully utilize all of the advanced features. While the basics are easy to grasp, it took me some time to get familiar with the more sophisticated settings and options. However, once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are impressive!

What do you like best about the product?
Central management, granular security, great support, daily use and stability are great too. It's also easy for our users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish we could update firmware through milestone that would then tell us if we need to update our driver packs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run everything from jail survelance to building security.
Preferred camera system after being an integrating for years and now end users with +3500 cameras
What do you like best about the product?
It's robust but easy to navigate, it has a plethora or permissions to create a very complex system segmented over a large organization by department. Almost anything can be done with Rules if you take the time to figure it out. I worked as an integrator for years installing Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Lenel video, etc, and as am end user now I still stick with Milestone for the forseeable future. I used Milestone every single day, full-time at work and running my home security system at home. Customer service is always available and eager to remote in and dive into whatever issue we may be having. Implementation is not too bad compared to some other camera or access control system, everything can be ran from one server if the system is small or the computer is robust enough. It's an open platform so is compatible with almost everything under the sun, integration into Lenel is not only supported but encourage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides minor in my opinion, there are a few things I wish were available, such as a feature similar to "area access manager" in say Lenel that would allow a department to add user to their view groups but only their view groups. There are some features that would be easy to implement that I believe may be held out of updates because they are offered by a paid third party service (Boring Labs). There needs to be a way to easily run a report showing your cameras and how much storage they are consuming, features like that are heavily used as selling points for Boring Labs but realistically could just be included in Milestone. The view creation in Smart Client is fine, but customization is limited more than some competitors. Smart Wall is an option, but moving a major system from Avigilon to Milestone really highlighted the low variation in preset Milestone views compared to what was in place previously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have thousands of cameras across dozens and dozens of buildings, without Milestone and the views that have been created within it, it would be total chaos for an officer or dispatch to try to find a camera.
Effectively manages the surveillance system with high stability and a great user-experience
What do you like best about the product?
The stability, the overall great user-experience, and how easy it is to update and keep a check on all the equpiment being used in the surveillance system.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've been using it since 2016, and we have no cons, only pros. A great product!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our line of business we need to be able to check historically (3 months back) if any incident have occured, and Xprotext Expert is great to work with. We use a centralized server so we are able to check the video surveillance remotely. We also need to check live if anything is not working as intended, and the quick login process makes it very effective to check if everyting is in order at the site where the surveillance is.
