Great source of deep dive into client environments
What do you like best about the product?
provides a in-depth look at items that could be a security issue in the future
What do you dislike about the product?
could use a way to disregard certian items from the checks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides us with a checklist of security items to clear to tighten our security practice.
Liongard is a very easy way to get consistently accurate information about our clients.
What do you like best about the product?
One place to find information about everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like more inspectors. There are a lot, but more is better!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardizing configuration and setup across our client base.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has a ton of information. More under the surface than it even looks like.
Automated documentation that comes with automated annoyances
What do you like best about the product?
Liongard's Discovery function is great and offers a lot of features, all from inventorying devices with a few mouse clicks to finding systems that were previously unknown in new client's systems. Once Liongard discovers a system, or the system was manually inventoried, it will keep changes and alerts for at least 365 days for a fair amount of auditing and retention depending on the system, it's metrics, and what the Liongard agent retrieves. The Alert Templates in conjunction with it's Actionable Alerts feature is a great way to alert on system issues and assist a department or company in maintaining it's infrastructure by integrating with ticketing systems., t
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration with larger ticketing systems makes doing work from a "single pane of glass" unreliable and oxymoronic to Liongard's concept of "automated documentation". Changes made in the ticketing system don't write back to Liongard and when priorities are changed in the ticketing system, they're overwritten by Liongard the next time the scan takes place which causes mass confusion to technicians in our industry. Support is very hit-or-miss when it comes to providing technical assistance, as the only method of support is chat functionalty and the chats close automatically after a specified time period along with our expierience of being told different information for the same problem/request. If an open chat (case) is left unattended, there is no follow up and the case is closed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved a lack of our technicians updating changes as well as we've included Liongard's system as a reactive change-control process so we have auditing of when a technician changes a system or when an unauthorized change may have occurred. This has also helped us identify when a client of ours adds a system to their environment unbeknownst to their IT department because the system is (often, but not always) identified during discovery scans.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Liongard is a fantastic product and a reliable source of documentation of your systems if you're interested in research and development of your own issues you find with the Liongard system.
Liongard Is Amazing
What do you like best about the product?
I like the structured design of the data. They do an excellent job of retrieving the data from various disparate systems and organizing it into something understandable. Their alerting is extremely powerful and is customizable so we can get alerts on basically anything that Liongard can detect.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the Inspectors they provide don't always work 100% with every system. In particular, their HP ProCurve Inspector is still in Preview status, meaning it's out of Beta stage already. Yet it has issues with quite a few of our HP ProCurve switches and refuses to connect successfully and retrieve the switch configuration information. Their help documents don't specify a particular version of switch that is supported, and I know for a fact the SSH connection and commands work exactly like all the other HP switches that do work in Liongard.
The alerting system is a bit difficult to comprehend and setup correctly.
The alerting system is a bit difficult to comprehend and setup correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had relied on email alerting in various systems, but as we grew it was becoming cumbersome to manage. And any changes to our policies had to be manually verified for each client. With Liongard, we can reduce our email alerting and instead rely on Liongard to pull that information daily and alert us if necessary. Any policy change we make in the future gets updated into Liongard and suddenly it applies to all our clients immediately. The time savings and accuracy of information is amazing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sign up for the trial and take time setting it up. They make it sound super easy, and even though it is, it takes a lot of thought and effort to setup it up properly to be useful.
Liongard
What do you like best about the product?
Tracking of changes to system configurations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the report writer could be easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto document my client's environments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, I would recommend the product to other MSPs.
Great Insights
What do you like best about the product?
I like to see in once place all the managed assets of each client of mine. I'm able to get an accounting of licenses and alerts of changes that might be concerning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how I can't seem to close tickets. Probably a learning curve on my part but I can't get rid of the tickets or alerts, just change their status.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm finding things that need resolution where before I had no visibility
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the functionality and the vast integrations that are associated with the application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is hard to find what you are looking for in the way of reporting for integrations and tuning the alerts otherwise you get inundated with them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that we are solving with Liongard is that vast amount of information that we are not aware of. Liongard takes care of that in a great way. Everything from IP ranges to domain information in one place, if anything changes for whatever reason you get alerts about it. We found that it was handy to be able to track when configuration changes happened and why.
Helping to complete our stack.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Liogard helps to find data we would not see otherwise. Support staff are rock stars. And my Sales person is always there for me as a advocate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's challenging to set up external sources of data. This can lead to a bit of frustration. The documentation seems to be a little lacking. But they make up for it in the support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was looking to get a dashboard of active data points to monitor. It has worked quite well for us.
Its a good time to get in the ground floor of Liongard. They'll help build what you want them to.
What do you like best about the product?
The data we get it out of it. We get one of the best change/audit logs in the industry for deploying it. Its not a central pane of glass, but its a living repository of live data from many platforms. There are similar tools for security, but for managing LOB and infrustcture platforms like Microsoft Office 365 and VMware, this helps us monitor them with a historical record that is as detailed as could be.
What do you dislike about the product?
The data is presented in a way that requires someone more technical to get everything out of it, but efforts are being made to simplify the presentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Audit/Change log and documentation of the system. We internally have a good change log to go look through, and have expanded our monitoring capabilities to more systems than just SNMP or typical windows/linux server monitoring. We're getting a lot out of the ESXI monitor recently. We give ourselves a change log for root causing issues or configuration errors. We also help our sales team with more data.
En Masse Cloud and Product Change Tracking for MSPs
What do you like best about the product?
The Roar product allows insight into vendors and products that do not have any kind of change tracking/auditing to begin with.
Even if your vendors do have tracking/reporting/auditing, they likely don't integrate with some of your other tools in a way that lets you see things in a uniform space.
Liongard enables MSPs to see the raw facts about a multitude of the products you are alrady using. Documenting the licensing, settings, and configurations as well as alerting to changes of those facts and keeping that history for your team to reference.
Liongard continues to add more products every quarter increasing their value as they continue to seek total visbility into any potential vendor you may select as an MSP in the future.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not unlike a SIEM, lots of data does not necessarily mean total insight. Liongard is far above an typical SIEM, as they don't simply provide raw data, the data IS structured and understandable.
Liongard is heavily focusing on their existing Reporting and Alerting engines, as well as making pulling data across inspectors, a priority to help you leverage all this data in smarter and easier ways.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is a certain amount of "sleeping better at night" having Liongard documenting things. In some systems very minute data, like the contents of an A record on a website, can equate to major outages and hours of waiting and working with outside vendors.
But with Liongard in place you know EXACTLY how that system was configured yesterday, and putting it back in place is as quick as referencing any other documentation your team might be maintaining.
Mind you this is all done automatically which empowers our team to focus on documenting the 'quirky' stuff.
Liongard also acts as a vendor/cloud alerting system. For those products/vendors who do not have the ability to alert you to changes, Liongard steps in to keep you informed to those changes that might otherwise be overlooked by the competition.
