  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Simscale is that, first, the interface is very user-friendly and easy to navigate for inexperienced CFD users, while also allowing enough control for more detailed analysis. The other very good thing about Simscale is the support that is always available to give helpful insights on problems you may face in a project. Collaborating with them has been a very positive experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
An area that I see Simscale working on that I think will be a great addition is the ability to manipulate the data after the run and extract insights.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visually pleasing and easy-to-understand results.

What do you like best about the product?
Simscale provides an amazing CFD and FEA tool, with a large knowledge material and it has a great support team, always resposive and caring, with a large experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe they could improve some animations in post-process results and some UX tools to enhance the user performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simscale provided a robust cloud-based simulation solution, which allowed us to save significantly on hardware. In addition, the support team provided us with rapid leverage of knowledge and implementation of the tool.

Low Initial Cost and User Friendly Approach

  • February 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I particularly appreciate the low cost of entry that SimScale offers. Unlike its competitors, where owning expensive hardware for simulations is necessary, SimScale's cloud-based approach makes simulation accessible without the need for hefty investments. The convenience of being able to run simulations from any device with an internet connection is a major advantage, allowing me to work flexibly and efficiently. The customer support is absolutely top tier as well. Being able to communicate directly with a support engineer is a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
While SimScale's platform provides a cost-effective and convenient solution for simulations, it does have limitations. Occasionally, I find myself wanting to modify specific equations or utilize boundary conditions that I may have otherwise been able to use in OpenFOAM. SimScale is mainly geared towards engineers that are new to CFD/FEA, so those features are understandably restricted. I would just like the option to view them should I so choose.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its cloud-based infrastructure eliminates the need for costly hardware investments, granting individuals access to sophisticated simulation tools without having to buy expensive equaipment. With scalable computing resources readily available, I can tackle projects of diverse complexities without worrying about infrastructure limitations. Its intuitive interface, coupled with pre-built simulation templates and documentation, expedites the setup and execution of simulations, reducing time for designs. SimScale has allowed me to solve intricate problems at work that would have otherwise been solved using empirical equations for approximation. By democratizing simulation technology, SimScale enhances efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation in engineering processes, enabling me to make faster and more informed decisions.

Simscale is interesting simulation tool for solving challenging problems for our customer

  • February 05, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Most helful and upsides criteria in Simscale will be less computational time to solve complex problems. More advanced and unique tools in tools in analysis settings and boundary conditions
What do you dislike about the product?
Least helpful in simscale will be in meshing domain. very less parameters for accurate meshing in terms of different types of meshing such as polyhedral, hexagoal and hexahedral
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we are solving in static analysis and dynamic analysis. The benefits are in approaching the problem with unique manner in solving approach

SimScale Review

  • January 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tech support is outstanding
Low overhead - minimal IT support required, can use a laptop/tablet
Software does everything we require for our simulations
Always available
What do you dislike about the product?
Generating reports would be a very helpful feature that is not available
Some settings in the CFD function can be confusing
Units - resetting units from metric to Imperial on the fly was not possible before, maybe it is now
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduces the amount of IT overhead required to run complex simulations - much less computing power required on the user side
Enables us to run several simulations in quick succession to converge on the best design

What do you like best about the product?
SImscale is easy to use, offers plenty of online documentation and examples to start working.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only 10 free sims available for basic user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps analyse and perfrom strucutural analysis, store all the results online and not worry about keeping track of the simulation.

Simscale for mechanical engineering

  • January 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing I like about SimScale is the usability and the support. I am fairly new to finite element analysis and the interface is easy to use. Plus SimScale let's you browse thousands of earlier projects for inspiration. It got me started within a week with virtually no prior knowledge on finite element modeling.

Support is also very good, response time is short and knowledge is very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is just one thing: I would like to see buckling calculations and visualisations in a future version. i haven't seen any specific 'buttons' for buckling in the interface but maybe that is just because I am not fully familiar yet with that type of analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We get many questions from clients about a more in-depth calculation than what is laid down in construction codes and operational codes. These questions we can often address and solve using SimScale.

What do you like best about the product?
It is quite user friendly and is quite handy for a beginner to pick up. There are good tutorials and plenty of documentation that you can read to better understand what the software is doing and how it operates.
The support is pretty good to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more detailed and intricate settings that you may like to tweek in your fluid sims can be hidden or impossible to edit as they are present and fixed in some simulation types.
It's still in development which means some features you would like or have in other software is not avaliable yet.
The support is in europe which is problematic when you are in a different time zone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a cost effective solution to our simulation needs. We don't have to pay the significant licensing costs associated with other simulation software. We are also using Simscales Core hours which frees up our machines for other things.

Cloud based simulation tool

  • January 22, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A native cloud simulation setup alleviates the need for substantial local computation and machines. The graphical user is continually improved. Recently, a local measurement was added to my solid mechanics simulation, which is a significant enhancement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Internal updates are sometimes rolled out without notifying users, complicating things when running a series of simulations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am utilizing SimScale for solid mechanics FEM modeling, have found the ease of implementing various boundary and initial conditions to be extremely beneficial. Recently, they have introduced additional numerical comparison features under the beta testing phase, which I find useful for simple cloud calculations. This eliminates the need to download the entire model file and post-process it separately.
