Easy, accessible and powerful

  • April 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is great that it is online and accessible virtually anywhere. The analysis tools are robust and the solvers available give precise results. Implementation time is almost non existent, as you do not need to setup any server, unlike some other FEA and CFD solutions. Integration is seamless with available plugins and costumer support is really fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cad geometry simplification tool could be more robust.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its helping me and my company solve problems in our designs faster, while allowing us to offer better quality solutions to our costumers.

Using SIMSCALE as a novice

  • April 26, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is great to be able to use SIMSCALE as a novice (Community Plan). Using it for simulating the wind around traditional windmills. As a novice I have questions, and the SIMSCALE support team is patient and helps you forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a pity that the Pedestrian Wind Comfort (PWC) is not available from the Community Plan (I can understand that, but still a pity).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want to be able to simulate the wind reduction due to buildings and tree around a traditional windmill (the windmill biotope). This biotope is theatened more and more due to new (higher) buildings and the 'continued' (and not evaluated properly in regulation) growth of trees. Want to understand how to simulated and help the regultors in defining better rules.

    Primary/Secondary Education

I have used SimScale for CFD simulations for writing a paper and I am completely satisfied.

  • April 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used SimScale Academic plan for writing a paper on Aircraft Aerodynamics, hence I only used their CFD simulations, so that will be the subject of my review. However, SimScales offers much more than that.

I consider the interface very intuitive, at least for the standarts of CFD software.
The option the upload an external 3D files is very convinient and the results and output is presented in a simple, easy to understand form and further process.

I appreatiate the fact that SimScale simulations run on their own servers and therefore don't use your computer's memory. That allows you to run several simulations at once, while doing something else or even turning off your computer.

And last but not least, I would like to praise their customer support, it is simply amazing. They are very polite and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the downsides of SimScale (at least community and academic plans - not quite sure how it is for the different proffessional plans) is the limited amount of core hours for computing simulations. That is, however, well balanced by the speed and the fact they run fully on cloud.

Sometimes I was a bit puzzled about what exactly the errors with my simulation were, so there could be some improvements in that aspect. Although that might partially be just a poor understanding on my end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimScale allowed me to create high quality simulations of airflow over different airfoils and further analyse their behaviour in different conditions.

Timely solution. Really liked it!

  • April 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is very convenient that you can work on the platform from a regular computer. The platform does not have high requirements for the computer. That is, to perform complex calculations, you do not need to buy an expensive high-performance computer. Thank you to the support team. There were questions. The guys responded promptly and helped to sort things out. Even though we speak different languages. There is a lot of educational material freely available. However, sometimes you start to get lost in this abundance of information. Therefore, it is easy to learn how to work on the platform independently. Even without experience working with CFD solvers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price bites. Even for the company, it turned out to be more profitable to get a solver license from AutoDesk.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used the platform to analyze the applicability of the module. It helped choose the direction for further product development.

Simulation made easy!

  • April 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integrated features in a simple workspace. All the commands are very easy to find and edit. Simulations can be setup with minimum effort compared to other softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much flexibility to change the mesh shape. I needed to use another software paraview to create a line plot but simscale should have this option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Optimize fin with simscale for saving material weight and cost.

Very professional finite element simulation software

  • April 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the advantages is that it is a cloud based software, it is easy to use. Worked examples online are also very interesting and give some idea about how to simulate your own example.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CAD drawing within the software and its modification is not the easiest one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am mostly using it for soft robotics application and I am taking a lot of benefit from this software.
