Metrics aggregator delivering fantastic analytics across engineering
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish allows me to gain insight into my team and organization from many perspectives with ease. I can see how my team aligns with our stated initiatives and where we are experiencing creep.
I can even provide insight and effective feedback at an individual level with the benchmarking tools as well as monitoring change over time.
With the forecasting tools it also helps in my planning and ability to foresee issues with capacity or over-comittment.

What do you dislike about the product?
The tool can be a bit jarring when first entering. It would be nice if the experience could be tailored to a particular role to start, and allow for customization as you familiarize yourself with the wide set of features.
I also think there are just some nice features missing -- things like marking non-work days, or allowing you to mark when a particular person is OOO. Right now it is unclear if these events affect metrics inside the app.

My experience with Jellyfish has been very pleasant.
What do you like best about the product?
The visualization aspect of project management is amazing. It is super easy to use and implement. The support is great and very responsive. It provides countless features that will make any team productive. Our teams use it daily for planning and managing work and it is great that it is easily integrated in Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not encountered anything that I didn't like about Jellyfish yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It help with data driven decision making. It helps us prioritize and allocate resources to tackle any task.
Great tool with great insights
What do you like best about the product?
The interface and the metrics that it provides.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more integrations with more tools. There is value that the tool provides and more integrations will help enchance the metrics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measure the performance based on valuable metrics.
Excellent tool for engineering managers
What do you like best about the product?
For me showing our engineering allocation. I can see at a glance where our efforts are going (feature work, bugs, system hygiene). I can also track work against expected completion dates to help identify potental blockers. I love that I can look at metrics by individual engineering teams or across my whole department.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish we could have closer to real-time updates. We do nightly updates from Jira, so sometimes I have to wait until the next day to see changes made to epics, stories, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cycle times - which help us with estimation of what work we can accomplish in a given window of time.
Allocations - shows where we are focusing our efforts.
Unlinked PRs - shows any 'hidden' work that may be happening.
Estimated completion dates - helps us track our progress and identify potential blockers

Ensuring alignment between engineering and the C-suite
What do you like best about the product?
By far the best thing about Jellyfish is the people. From day one they have been there around the clock to ensure that our integration goes smoothly, and they continue to be there even after our initial onboarding. Every engineering organization is different and has different needs so it's clear they've put a ton of thought into onboarding.
Once on board, Jellyfish provided us with clear and actionable insights. As an engineering manager, my role is to make sure my team's work is aligned with the company's priorities, and the investment allocations feature helps me to ensure that it is. Additionally, the at-a-glance deliverables feature is top-notch and provides us with a clear view of our progress toward milestones.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are really only two things that could be better.
Firstly, easier configuration within the app. Many items require a conversation with the support team to change. I have noticed, however, that Jellyfish is making an effort to improve their self-service options within the app.
Secondly, as an engineer I understand why this is a challenge, but realtime data would make this an even more useful tool. As it stands, we must wait for our data to refresh overnight or during a manually-triggered update. It would be nice to see all of that lovely data closer to realtime.

Jellyfish helps ensure that our engineering teams are fully aligned with the goals of our stakeholders and executives, and that we're delivering value where expected.
Valuable Sprints View for Scrum Master Coaching Teams
What do you like best about the product?
As a Scrum Master I use the Sprints View to review with my teams how our Velocity is trending. This view is more detailed than what Jira provides.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally would appreciate views/dashboards by role in Jellyfish, for example I'm a Scrum Master and there is information I want to review with the team as a whole, but have to be careful about how the data is seen/portrayed as to not offend or cause alarms around being micro managed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish has been a great way for us to encourage Jira & Github hygiene
An incredibly valuable tool with a couple areas for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish combines Git and Jira data into an easy-to-understand format that often leads to actionable insights. Compared to many alternatives, the setup is relatively straightforward, as Jellyfish comes with a lot of built-in features and opinions.
I appreciate Jellyfish's support and the new features that they have rolled out over the past few months. The team has done a good job explaining Jellyfish's philosophy and how to get the most out of the tool as possible.
I am particularly excited for the new goal setting framework that they are rolling out, as it will give teams even more value in the form of concrete operational objectives.

What do you dislike about the product?
Compared to a few alternatives, customizing and configuring Jellyfish is not as self-service as we would like.
One of the product's strengths is that it is opinionated. However, this comes with the trade-off of less flexibility. This is a tradeoff we were willing to accept, as it leads to standardization across teams, but Jellyfish's opinions might not align with every organization's philosophy.
In a similar vein, there are aspects of Jellyfish that require a support ticket to configure or change. Their support is responsive and it seems like they are building tools to make some configuration more self-service, but the current model can lead to configuration changes taking a day or two to be completed.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish allows our engineering managers and leaders to understand how their teams are performing and where they can improve. It gives us insight into operational metrics beyond just DORA, with a focus on process, collaboration, and investment allocations. This allows our teams to determine if they are focusing on the right areas of investment and if there are any bottlenecks in thier processes.

What do you dislike about the product?
Jellyfish has industry and company benchmarks but you can't set custom targets - would love to be able to have target metrics
No system performance metrics (eg. RUM, Downtime, Sev1 incidents) or product usage metrics which can tend to make the metrics output rather than outcomes focused. Ideally would be able to integrate with DataDog.
Unable to report on all deliverables - you can only view those in progress or complete - which makes it challenging to report on all quarterly goals (including those note yet started) for example.

Identify and resolve process bottlenecks, increase speed of delivery, track deliverables & identify risks, improve sprint predictability & completion, financial reporting
Insight in your team, department and organization
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish brings the data from our most common development tools together and creates multiple different perspectives that allow us to monitor our operation. It aggregates from users, to teams, to departments, to organization, giving insights on any level we want.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a fast amount of configuration possible. Not all of them are self-servicable (yet).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing teams to improve is hard, but it becomes easier if it can be data driven. Jellyfish gives our team insight in the metrics we value as an organization.
Great tool for tracking metrics and KPIs for the Engineering Organization
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish provides a great aggregate view to get insights for the organization or specific teams based on data in Jira and source code repository. The UI is simple and intuitive, and the customer success rep is great in terms of providing support and resolving issues. I consistently use Jellyfish to track progress of Initiatives, and also report KPIs to executives on a monthly basis. The DevFinOps module is a significant timesaver for doing software capitalization reports for the finance team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be more self-service support in the product, for example the ability to save deliverable views. The DevOps Also would be good to have an API to pull information into other tools. The DevOps metrics were a bit cludgy to set up, and didn't work well, so we're not using those.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish helps us:
* Track progress of development work
* Understand allocation for new features work vs bugfixes vs tech debt/infra
* Generate reports for the Finance team for software capitalization
