A useful addition to our Scrum Master toolkit

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish has been a useful addition to our Scrum Master toolkit. It has contributed to improving our team's agility and productivity, and I would recommend it to fellow Scrum Masters looking for a tool to streamline agile processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be difficult to narrow down to exactly what you are looking for and it breaks down velocity by week as opposed to just giving the full month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish makes it easier to pull information which means less time on filling out spreadsheets.

Nice overview of data from multiple sources

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to see, for my team, the breakdown of time on epics, time by individuals on certain tasks is really handy. The high level overview of issues by type also makes it quick to see what's going on at a glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the challenges as a team manager is the lack of detailed information on the signals Jellyfish uses to drive some of the reports. The signals are great as it combines information from a variety of sources however not knowing clearly what they are adds an area of doubt to the reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping to expose data from many locations and centralise reporting efforts.

1 year using JellyFish

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I oversee four development teams. We use JellyFish to determine how well execution matches plans. JellyFish reduces my workload to answer the basic questions such as whos is working on what and how much effort was expended.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jellyfish is cumbersome when trying to slice data by activity type or by team (organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish enables me to determine how much effort was expended on each lifecycle activity. e.g. feature development versus bug fixing

Team performance demystified

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using it for the last 5-6 months and it has been a great experience overall.

Few highlights
1. Easy-to-use UI
2. Intuitive navigation
3. Actionable insights
What do you dislike about the product?
There are lots of things that need to be manually configured for our organisation for which we need to reach out to support all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding how the team is performing, which areas are we investing into and accordingly making data-driven decisions.

Visibility and a growing set of features

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Managing development contribution by Product has always been tricky. Jellyfish provides a significant step forward in aggregating indicators that Development leadership, Product leadership, and executives can use. Plus, we see a steady stream of new ideas and features coming, which is always a good indicator. The visualizations are clever and helpful, and they apply quantitative measures to a notoriously subjective exercise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Measuring effort and contribution is highly subjective, and Jellyfish can't change that fact. However, one area where Jellyfish could improve would be to provide in-app recommendations about the relative usefulness/reliability of the different metrics - and not hidden behind a tool tip or documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is difficult to measure and manage development contribution to Product. It is a subjective exercise, and quantitative measures are elusive. Jellyfish provides a growing set of these quantitative measures to help manage the contributing teams.
It gives us a source of truth that allows Product and Development leadership to work together constructively in decision making.

Useful metrics

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great metrics on throughput both at team and individual level.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great to see more customizable dashboards! Would be ideal to be able create arbitrary groupings of engineers (like Starred, but multiple groupings I can configure).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish helps me understand producitivity metrics for my engineering teams so that I can more effectively manage their capacity and spot potential issues early.

We are just starting to use Jellyfish to predict delivery and visualize status of larger initiatives.

Perfect tool to monitor time to release for features, per team

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We benefit from a highly responsive support team that swiftly addresses bug fixes and configuration requests

Monitoring project deliverables and identifying any scope changes or deviations from the planned schedule is a valuable way to stay aligned with our objectives.

The Life Cycle Explorer tool has proven instrumental in pinpointing and eliminating bottlenecks within our processes.

Utilizing team health metrics such as predictability and efficiency provides strong support for our teams to enhance their speed and workflow.

With customizable views and dashboards, we can stay concentrated on our top priorities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer to have an API available for extracting these metrics, allowing us to integrate them into our internal Business Intelligence (BI) system and combine them with our business and HR metrics

Also it coulb percieved by the teams as a way to be policed... even if it's not the case
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes things easy when calculating capacity of teams, evaluating the risks and have great approximation of time to market for future releases.
So on an accountant point of vue and from a managerial one, it provides support to evaluate the cost of development.

All the Bells and Whistles; Encourages one to Play Music

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Once things are set up, Jellyfish hums along. There are direct links out to the external systems of record, allowing one to validate or drill down when needed. Visualization exist for data which wasn't easily visualized before.

I used to check in somewaht infrequently (a few times a month), but as I got more comfortable with all the moving parts - found that I would look into something at least weekly, and for longer periods of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep leaning curve, which seems inevitable given the complexity of what Jellyfish aims to do. I wasn't involved in wiring everything up, but have heard it's non-trivial as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get a better understanding of developer productivity across a variety of metrics. This allows ofr more targeted policies and initiatives, as well as individual help when needed.

Metrics that you can rely on

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Jellyfish almost daily, and it’s been an invaluable tool for integrating with Jira. It simplifies pull request tracking, issue cycle monitoring, and effort allocation across the team. The app makes it easy to understand how our team’s time is being spent, which has helped us optimize resource allocation and ensure that work is focused on the highest-priority initiatives—while also preventing team members from being overloaded or underutilized.

The interface is clean and intuitive, which minimizes the learning curve and makes it easy for everyone to access the insights they need without technical hurdles.

I highly recommend Jellyfish to any company looking to streamline their engineering tracking and gain deeper visibility into process bottlenecks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s very little to critique about Jellyfish. The team is consistently responsive, receptive to feedback, and committed to rolling out meaningful new features. Their customer support has also been excellent—always quick to help and genuinely invested in solving any issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effort Allocation & Resource Management

Eye opener tool with on click analytics

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Instant insights about myself and how the team is doing
- Easy to identify bottlenecks in our team
- Metrics are easy and intiutive to understand so it's very fast to act upon
- Great dashboard

Updates:
- Still using Jellyfish and now a bit more familiar with the metrics to dig deeper
- dashboard is still pretty handy and provides most of the information you need
What do you dislike about the product?
- Easy configuration, as of now any config change has to be done via the service route and that takes time to reflect into our data
-
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There was no single dashboard to track user and project analytics while highlighting the bottlenecks which JellyFish is doing splendidly. There's not much to dislike in the tool so it's gonna get better with time.
