Good Product, still has improvements to make
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish has a great UI for viewing aggregated Jira data.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some naiveties in it's implementation. For example, if an engineer starts a jira task on the first of the month, then goes on vacation for the rest of the month, Jellyfish considers that engineer to have been working on the task all month. The engineer is then allocated for 8 hours a day for 30 days to that one Jira ticket, creating some weird data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish helps us to give insight in our teams' performance to our leadership
A solid additional source of insight
What do you like best about the product?
As an IC it is helpful to see how I compare to the braoder team in various high visibility metrics.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inheriant issues with using the metrics available to Jellyfish (PR's made, GH activity) keep me from relying too much on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing where I fit in the producitivty of my larger team
Brings powerful insights to the forefront to make business decisions!
What do you like best about the product?
The best things about JellyFish is the fact it bring data together from multiple sources to bring powerful insights across my teams to the forefront making it easier to measure how things are changing with process and manpower changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Consistency is key to bring together these insights so you must have a process to standardize across your org to implement for tools like JIRA and GitHub to get the benefits you'd like from it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping my Engineering Managers capacity plan and measure flow in a way that brings insights to how we make decisions within my vertical.
A good tool for tracking employee performance
What do you like best about the product?
A simple tool with lots of different statistics, graphs and values. You can track the performance of both the team and each participant individually
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not enough API to be able to pull all the information into your systems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps to track employee performance as well as keep track of your own
Useful tool to get insight into what the team is working on
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to see what my team, and other teams I work with are working on at the moment and how much effort is being put into everything
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont think it is Jellyfish's fault, more the fault of how our instance was configured. But there are a lot of acronyms. And if your Jira is not setup correctly the data in Jellyfish will be weird
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's useful to be able to see where the team is spending time during a sprint. Which bits took longer than expected etc.
Helpful Insights
What do you like best about the product?
JellyFish provides a clear and drillable vision into how my teams is performing, and enables me to use data to drive change
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the stratistics are not immediately clear as to what exact is being measured. But after some time and experimentation, I'm more and more seeing the value of each metric
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measuring team efficiency and adherence to best practices
Actionable insights for Engineering Leaders
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish provides me with data and insights that I could use to help my teams better to finish strong. The app projects when certain work items are going to land and this insight allows me to plan for changes towards getting the project back on track. When Planning capacity for large-scale initiatives, enables me to better capacity planning. Finally, it helps me quickly prepare for an Operational review with my leadership.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Jellyfish provided Engineering leaders with features around Initiative Planning/Project planning and estimation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides data that I can use while reporting Team Operational Metrics.
Useful insights, deep dive into data
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how data is summarized, and how you can deep dive into the details of it. This is pretty helpful for the managers, peers and even for my self; this helps on planning, tracking execution and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first looked a bit overwhelming, but it's really easy to navigate and learn how to use everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of planned things and how they got executed; and personally, measure efficiency as well as the work done.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see more filtering options. For example I'd like to be able to compare certain metrics of individuals to other people in the same role (e.g. iOS engineer to be compared with the average metrics for iOS engineer, not just an engineer in general).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Still Learning to use it
What do you like best about the product?
SSO seems to work well. I've only ever logged in a few times.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really feel compelled to use it as an engineering manager for an internal team. I don't have so many direct reports that I don't have a good idea of what they are working on and how things or going, so for me, I don't really see how Jellyfish helps me. Maybe thats the fact that I missed the training though...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think this product is more for product-facing engineering team who have more developers and where insights might be harder to glean because the teams are larger. I don't really have any problems with our team or their efficiency that I don't think I cant solve or understand by simply talking to my team directly.
