Egnyte for Small Remote Work Architecture / Design Collective
What do you like best about the product?
Egnyte works well enough for our remote worker architecture collective because it allows us to maintain a folder structure and access files locally from our computers while still syncing to the cloud. The desktop integration feels fairly seamless, so working on CAD and smaller revit project files is about as smooth as possible for a cloud platform. Upload and sync speeds are generally solid. However, we run into some issues for larger workshared revit files. Generally, once Egnyte is set up properly, everyday use and permissions granted, opening, saving, and sharing files is straightforward for most team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of our larger revit files become an issue when trying to synchronize, so this works bets for smaller or non central files. Managing folder permissions can be frustrating. The system is powerful but not always intuitive, so if the person organizing them isn’t very precise, permissions can get messy or overly restrictive. I've gotten locked out of folders I needed on a time crunch, so I was made a Power User. I do think the pricing may be a little higher than other options, as I beleive our admin is trying to limit our number of power user seats.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Egnyte allows our fully remote team to work together on a variety of projects. Having the desktop folder integration or the mobile/ web version makes it very easy to collaborate and sync/ share our work.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, no coding needed. The windows interface matches perfectly. Do not even compare it to Dropbox, Google Drive, and all other copycats. This is a virtual server that is infinitely scalable, allows you to recover previous versions of a file and trash. The search through the browser is lightning fast and obliterates any search attempted through the desktop.
What do you dislike about the product?
The need to have two interfaces to accomplish some tasks. Although the browser view is very elegant, you still have to navigate to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It made all our problems go away. It's scalable, trash is kept for months, versioning for files. Ease of use for even the simplest users.

The Egnyte program is helping us with data storage and the sharing of photos of drawings and documents necessary for carrying out our work.

It's quick and easy to use, we can use it with various employees.

We really like the product. We wish that we could change the color of different folders to better organize them.

We no longer have to use external hard drives for all of our e- file copies which is great.

What do you like best about the product?
It allows different types of documents that are easily and directly accessible without any issues. It is very simple to manage who has access to each document. It also facilitates the organization of documents and files that are created in each project, and it gives us an important sense of security.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing concrete that I dislike, but if I had to say something, the interface can be somewhat confusing for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of accessing your documents anywhere just by having internet access. Sharing documents has also become very easy with this program.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good product that more than fulfills its function, access your documents quickly and securely, share them without the need for email, with perfect customer service.
