Ultimate Device Protection with Absolute Secure Endpoint
What do you like best about the product?
What stands out most about Absolute Secure Endpoint is the level of device protection it provides. Even if key hardware components—like the motherboard or hard drive—are replaced, the device stays protected and fully manageable. That kind of persistence gives me real peace of mind. I also value the global device-tracking capability. As long as the device is powered on, I can see where it is, no matter where it’s located. It’s a powerful and reassuring feature for both security and asset management. The resilience features are another major advantage. Absolute ensures that a set of required applications remain installed and healthy, which helps maintain consistency, security, and compliance across devices. The initial setup was also simple and quick, making deployment straightforward. Overall, the combination of persistent security, tracking, and resilience makes Absolute Secure Endpoint stand out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The primary issue I’ve experienced is the slow turnaround time for service requests and updates, which can affect operational efficiency. The ServiceNow integration is helpful, but it still feels limited—especially when it comes to automation. Right now, end users have to rely on the backend team to run automation tasks, which introduces delays. Allowing users to execute more automation directly would make the platform far more flexible and efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Absolute helps ensure strong and persistent device protection, even in scenarios where hardware changes occur. It also provides reliable tracking capabilities and resilience features that keep essential applications installed and functioning. These capabilities collectively improve our device security, visibility, and control.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
The support is amazing and always helpful. It is easy to use and find exactly what you are looking for. Reports are easy to generate and share. The gps can be handy sometimes as well. The ability to freeze a device then report missing or stolen is a nice touch as well. You can also remote wipe devices which is necessary in my field.
What do you dislike about the product?
The geo-location is a bit wonky sometimes. It will put devices in Kansas then in the middle of lake for some reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to locate missing devices. We also now know what devices are missing and possible locations. It has opened more tracking options to better keep tabs on people losing devices.
Absolute works, just a bit expensive.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to track machines. Also the ability to lock the machines remotely.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost per machine is a bit high in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote lock company owned machines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None
works well
What do you like best about the product?
that we can unlock any laptop as long as it is connected to the internet
What do you dislike about the product?
the unlock procedure can be a little smoother
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are solving compliant issues with machines that have been offline for over 90 days. benefits would be that the user would have to bring in the laptop for unlocking and at this time we can make sure that all updates are applied and apps are up to date
Recommendations to others considering the product:
make the unlock procedure more intuitive
Everything you want in a security software package and then some you didn't know you wanted...
What do you like best about the product?
Absolute is extremely simple and straightforward to deploy on Windows and Apple products to deploy. During our POC we had multiple machines deployed within a half hour. You can easily track where assets are, how long they have been there, and the software has some really nifty features in deleting software, PII, as well as functionality to remote wipe a machine when you or an employee no longer has it. The website is relatively straight-forward to utilize and being able to see your entire fleet is very simple to do. I really appreciated the reporting functionality as well, allows me to generate reports to show Management exactly where assets are, as well as what machines have been decommissioned, etc.
Absolute absolutely :) works very well at tracking, we went from our POC directly to purchasing because it works that well. We needed to be able to track our assets, turn them off, discover security data as well as be able to help us recover assets when employees leave or are terminated, and Absolute was by far the best product we tested in this regard. Having BIOS support in all major laptop manufacturers is also very helpful, and allowed us to very quickly spin up from POC to Production. We also didn't have to redeploy Absolute converted our POC console directly to production.

What do you dislike about the product?
Absolute doesn't really have a ton of issues that we uncovered, but we have seen that Apple appears to break the client functionality in the name of "privacy concerns" and you must update the client after an OS upgrade. Also, in their console, they have settings that are in the "old" section or the console, aka Classic settings, and then the new settings. This isn't an issue per se, but does seem weird as sometimes you have to look in a couple of places to find a setting to change, etc. When I enquired this was due to just how large the install base (I was told millions of devices) so making a change is like steering the Titanic :) This was not anything that was an issue or difficult to deal with though, just something to keep in mind. We still purchased the software because Absolute is clearly very good at what we needed which is the ability to track assets and it excels in this regard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
benefits realized are that we finally can know at a moments notice if an asset is somewhere it's not supposed to be, if a laptop is lost or stolen we can track it down / get authorities involved if need be, and in general it allows us to be proactive about protecting our company and our assets. I really liked the PII functions of the software as well, it obfuscates it from your security team but allows you to know that it exists and can take proper steps to take care of that. With Absolute, we don't have surprises anymore.
Absolute Review
What do you like best about the product?
The admin console works very well and it is very easy to use. It offers great control of all the machines and helps keeps security strong. It was very well organised but can take some time to get used to. The devices are well organised and it offers a great variety of features
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to navigate through all the different features that are offered. Their should be more documentation on the features that are given within the software and help to gain a better understanding of how everything works
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Absolute allows us to use a software that helps keep our devices secure aswell as allowing us to track devices. It is a great security software
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Absolute is a very strong security software one of the best that i have used. It offers some great features and it helps to keep our internal employees machines secure.
A few kinks to work out but overall a great service with excellent support
What do you like best about the product?
Their tech support is second to none. A lot of the new features being implemented into the program as a whole are looking very promising. There are multiple ways to go about using the product to protect assets in the event of theft and to track just about anything you would need to. The GPS functionality is excellent as well. We have only used it a small amount but it works well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The console is sometimes slow to update. There would be less reason to contact support if the user console were a bit more consistent. That said, they seem to be working hard on getting this new version up to speed with great features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having the ability to keep track of units which get sent out and returned has been a very important part of organizing our 'rental' inventory. The benefit of being able to organize everything within the console in addition to other useful features has been invaluable to my daily processes. The wealth of information which can be gained about each unit is also quite valuable. Of course, the most important part is having the ability to remotely shut down stolen units so the data cannot be recovered.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Once you get through the learning curve of the console and managing everything, Absolute can be a very powerful tool if implemented correctly.
Peace of mind for any security team.
What do you like best about the product?
I can tell any manager what was on a lost computer, when it was lost, where it was lost. I can verify it was encrypted, I can say who used it last. The amount of information and control they give is critical to complying with HIPAA. The persistence modules help to prevent shadow IT, and the support team will help train you how to use it, not just a "here is a pdf have fun"
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little pricy if you have a large environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use it for asset tracking, auditing, MDM, data collection.
