Good product with the potential for being a great product.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use for freezing or wiping a computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting functions. This reports are Ok. Most of them work as advertised though if you are trying to extract the data for audits, some of the report do not allow for export. Also, if you do a customized report it does not have an export feature. This limits the ability for this product to help with 3rd party audits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used this product for mobile device management and tracking.
Not what I expected, but that was a good thing
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that you can track your hardware even if the OS is re-setup blew my mind. This tool has a lot going for it. You can make your own alerts for any software. You can even setup GPS tracking. This is a wonderful tool for security and tracking of what is or is not installed.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a new solutions for us. At this time I do not know of any dislikes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed the ability to lock a system down. This solutions has that option.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a solution that can get around any OS tampering this is the one to go with.
Why I like Absolute
What do you like best about the product?
I like the remote wipe and freeze features. I use the reports and alerts to monitor over 1500 devices and I also like geolocation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I started using this recently. I have yet to discover any cons of the application. In a company which is using Absolute for years, I think there might be limitations but no cons or dislike of anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are tracking devices, monitoring alerts for security risks. As an example, we discovered a missing device and were able to force the user to bring it back by freezing the machine and one other time we wipe stolen machine over and over and eventually laptop was returned to "Lost & found" as it was of no use to them.
A Solid Tracking System
What do you like best about the product?
The accuracy of the tracking system. Very clear and can pinpoint a computer's location within 100 feet of its actual spot.
What do you dislike about the product?
How difficult it can be to find the menus. Seems the system moves the tracking information around and it becomes increasingly difficult to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to locate and contact our users where a computer has been last seen or report to local authorities of its whereabouts.
Absolute Review
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to keep track of our hardware without being on our network.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times where the app is not working correctly. Very few instances but when it happens and you need data on a device it is tough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need help to close the gap on our Asset Inventory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would suggest you have your PC vendor enable Absolute in the factory before they ship the computer.
Absolute is a nice tool but still has some bugs and improvements that were not addressed

The visibility gives to our assets and geofence function
What do you dislike about the product?
The alerts don't work as expected, the roles are attached to the legacy role which is not granular. The way the group works is really bad. The classic report shows more information than the new report system. The email template for geofence alerts is really badly designed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Honestly, the only problem we are solving with absolute is retrieving devices when employees leave the firm and checking some missing software in our laptops.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A nice asset management tool, if you wanna track your device's location, is also really good.
Just be aware as the more customization you need, the more likely you will have multiple tickets open with support without actually fixing but more of a workaround.

Just what we needed!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to locate devices. Within our organization it is crucial we keep track of our devices especially with the devices with very sensitive data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that we are unable to turn on location tracking for just one device instead of the whole tenant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Within our organization we are required to have all devices up to date with the latest patches and MCAfee running. Absolute has given us the ability to manage devices outside our network.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are thinking about Absolute for your organization do not think twice! It has been one of the best device management solutions we have used by far. Absolute does exactly what it is intended for and has helped our organization manage all our devices!

Accuracy and not just the part where computers are properly managed and freeze when its stolen but the reporting seems very accurate and easy to read.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to be quite frank. Probably one of the few non-open source tools i could give a thumbs up to.

Asset monitoring and management.
Unusually appropriate security app for unusual times
What do you like best about the product?
Our use of Absolute has been a bright spot during the pandemic, especially has our user population has become even more geographically dispersed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of silent install makes deployment a challenge
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The geolocation and remote wipe capabilities have already proven useful during this posture, and these features give us better visibility into where our assets are in the world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider adding a true silent install to minimize end user disruptions, especially during this period of extended WFH as a result of the pandemic.
Also consider just making it a full fledged RMM; it's already most of the way there, and it just appears to simply lack the ability to have remote desktop. Other than that, it might as well be RMM + security.
