Absolute, a requirement for security.
What do you like best about the product?
Absolute allows us to learn more about our devices, from what's installed, who's using it, if they have personal information, and be able to lock it down if it gets stolen. The customer service is great and is glad to help with any question that comes up. It has helped us multiple times in locating devices when SCCM failed to show a full picture. Narrowing information down to who uses it and when and how long is huge for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Absolute does a lot. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming and confusing how to utilize the system to your advantage in different situations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Absolute to track devices and use it as part of our salvaging process. We are able to answer questions such as; who is signed into the device, how much is it getting used, who else uses it, where is the device? It's huge for us to be able to show this information to our divisions. We also use it for theft, lost, and stolen devices. In a couple of clicks, we can lock a device down or even wipe its hard drive in dire cases. Also if something does get stolen, they will work with law enforcement and attempt to get the device back!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your devices can handle Absolute. Also ask your vendor how to add Absolute to each purchase so licensing doesn't get out of hand.

Review of absolute software
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the way that I can use this system when I need a system that does what absolute does. When I need to freeze a device, I can use absolute to freeze a device. When I need to format a device, I can format a device. When I need to locate a device, I can locate a device. When I would like to report a device stolen, I can report a device stolen. When I need to check that last logged on user for a device, I can check the last logged in user for a device within absolute. When I need to check the recent activity of a device, I can use absolute to check the recent activity on a device.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really dislike the way that I cant use this system when I need to do something that absolute does not do. When I need to track a device that is off network, I cannot do that with absolute, and its very frustrating. When I would like to retreive a device that gets stolen and shows up in India, I cannot use absolute to retreive the device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem I have solved with Absolute is a problem that was basically waiting for a solution like absolute to solve. The benefits of using absolute have become apparent through our own practice of asset management and loss prevention.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider Absolute when you are considering buying software that does what absolute does
Great tool for asset tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Convient way to find devices and users all under one roof
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting feedback from scripts run on endpoints is a pain. Software inventory seems to be a raw scrape of what's on the filesystem which is both a blessing and a curse
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asset tracking and freezing stolen devices
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, great reporting functionalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some aspects like geo-tracking etc are kind of redundant
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps keep track of machines deployed in our environment and remote control over access.
Great Product and Support
What do you like best about the product?
I love the Absolute product as we get some many additional tools to use from one product. I'm able to have my MECM client monitored and repaired as needed, track asset locations and know the location information is accurate, execute remote scripts often times saving the end user from having to bring their device onsite, and working with all of the Support and Account folks. Anytime I have a question, I can simply open a quick chat with support to get my answer and I have no fears of waiting in a queue for long periods of time. If I feel my request may be a bit lengthy, I'll submit a ticket online and a tech is reaching back out soon after with actionable information, not just a we've received the ticket response. If I've got a feature request, I just email our account team and they take care of putting that request in and making sure the right folks are involved.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with most asset tracking systems, I don't like when we have a device go missing I cant send actions until the deivce comes back online. Again thats something we all will deal with. I would like to see more functionality with Mac OS devices in terms of persistance like what I have with Windows without having to use a MDM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Through the use of the Reach Scripts, I've been able to create local user accounts when staff were unable to login due to an expired password or other similar issue and thus unable to connect to our VPN. This save staff from having to send their device in or come onsite which in several cases can be several hundred miles to the nearest corporate office. We're also able to maintain compliance tracking for device enryption and have better knowledge on where our devices are physically.
