Great product but has room for imporvement
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install and configure. Easy to search for assets. I like that you can run reports and have proof that an asset's data was securely wiped clean and ready for disposal.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard needs some improvement. Some items are not accurate such as the number of licenses available. It also is difficult to navigate. I had to reach out for help to understand how to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Though it's far from perfect, it does partially meet a need to manage equipment and data. It is important to me that the wipe feature works 100% of the time . On multiple occasions, it has failed with various errors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a backup plan in place if you need to remotely wipe a device.
"Absolute"ly worth it!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can look up and see when devices are online. I also love the fact that I can freeze and unfreeze at a click of a button.
What do you dislike about the product?
It needs a mass unfreeze that I think is being worked on.
Haven't delved into all the features and functions as of yet.
Haven't delved into all the features and functions as of yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have had some thefts and devices taken home when they shouldn't have been so I love that we can see when the device has left the respective location to determine our next course of action.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We solely purchased based on a need of trying to locate any lost/stolen devices but it has been able to provide so much more. The dashboard is full of information.
good experience with absolute
What do you like best about the product?
i like this software. very useful and faster response.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing so far. still using from one month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
to find my all devices with all information
Coolest application I have ever seen
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part about Computrace is the grid system. You can put a geographical grid around a machine and as soon as it leaves the grid, it automatically freezes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say what I do not like is the time it takes for it to update sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am freezing computers for terminated employees. I can see all machines under a specific user ID. And I can see all machines with specific naming.
I recommend absolute to other people
What do you like best about the product?
It´s beneficial to manage the computers of a company. I used to work as IT Support in an international company, and my partners use absolute to manage the location of the computers.
What do you dislike about the product?
On some occasions, I don't have access to the page. but this problem wasn't often, so i enjoyed the experience using absolute, and I will recommend Absolute to other people
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved some problems in the company; it's my first year using the application i was monitoring the computers of the company, using absolute we know the location of the computer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes
Great product, was essential for continuity during Pandemic
What do you like best about the product?
The number one thing I like the best is the persistence of the agent regardless of OS wipe/reinstall.
From an asset management perspective, this has been invaluable.
The location and location logs, utilizing multiple location methods, reallygives us a good idea where our devices are.
The software inventory with dates of installation helps us determine what may have been put on when, and allows to track down when non-business things are being put on devices.
Calling home via the internet is great, as we almost always can locate the devices with the exception of when they are locked up and powered away.
The ability to send Powershell commands/scripts was huge for us to get users set up properly for a work from the home situation during the pandemic. We were able to do so much, from fixing SCCM clients to pushing out software or updates, changing licensing from KMS to MAK for Office and Windows, setting up NTP to a internet source.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were an easier way to get the contents of specific screens into an exported CSV/TXT file for use in other places (scripts, spreadsheets, etc).
I also wish it had some sort of "cloud storage" for some exports of powershell such as log files to be returned, so it could be accessible without us having to host something.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Locating our assets is the primary problem.
The ability to do some remote management of devices via the internet has been amazing for the pandemic's work-from-home challenges.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
We've been using the product for quite a long time... it has gotten better as it has aged, and support has been good. We are increasing its footprint from Mobile devices to all devices in the next 4 year cycle. Its definitely a product to consider.
Excellent software offering with lots of reporting information
What do you like best about the product?
We use the software inventory quite often. This allows us to easily see which devices are missing antivirus software or our patch management software. Our LTE devices can connect to it as well, so it's pretty accurate. Absolute support is very good as well; everytime I've called in I have not had to wait on hold for very long and the technicians have been very knowledgeable so the issues have been resolved in a very timely manner
What do you dislike about the product?
We had lost a device and the location history was a little hard to find in the web interface. Whenever I have had to perform actions on missing devices (or any other actions) I have found it difficult to find out what every action does. I have had to use google to figure out which each one
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to track down missing or stolen devices more easily. Absolute also allows us to remotely wipe or disable a device even if the drive has already been reformatted. We have been using it verify our inventory as well. We have a lot of mobile devices that run on LTE that don't connect directly to the corporate network for extended periods of time so it makes managing those devices much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a very useful piece of software especially if you have LTE devices that don't connect to the corporate network very often. We use it mainly to protect our data in the event that the device is lost or stolen; we can remotely wipe the device which ensures that our data and our customers' personal information is kept safe.
All-around device intelligence platform that provides device security and peace of mind to business.
What do you like best about the product?
The platform utilizes built-in technology to most laptops available today to track mobile devices and ensure that the hardware and intellectual property on board remains secure. It also integrates with industry-standard patch management platforms like Kaseya.
What do you dislike about the product?
No support for Linux. I feel like while lots of laptop developers are accomodating Linux users, quite a few SaaS platforms do not support industry-standard Linux distributions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were evaluating Absolute as a physical security solution to integrate with our existing IT solutions as, with COVID, more and more folks are working remotely, in addition to folks that were already remote. Our folks do a lot of business travel, and, to be honest, FileVault and Bitlocker aren't enough. With the ability to track the locations of our devices and remotely wipe their data, Absolute seemed like a great solution.
Best Tool to Manage and Protect your Computers
What do you like best about the product?
We really like what we can do with Cortex. These automation processes help to save time and we know it helps to save money. The patch management system with the ability to find vulnerabilities is state-of-the-art. Syxsense acts on the two main security fronts: fixing software and finding pre-existing vulnerabilities inherent to the patch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inventory reports are not on par with the rest of the software. They are just a handful and contain little information such as: Most used software (time of use), license control, geographic location, software whitelist and blacklist, inadequate machines (stations that are always performing at their maximum can be an indication of stations that need improvement and adaptation) and ability to customize / create new reports from the queries
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software updates and patches were disorganized and often did not cover all of the third-party software. So Syxsense was essential in helping to create a compliance plan on updates to operating systems and third-party software in addition of course to tools like remote access and remote PowerShell that help IT to have more efficient processes and deliver IT compliance, patch and fulfill requests more efficiently in record time.
Flexible and Customer Focused
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to work with us to include desired features or find work arounds for not yet existing features, also provide very detailed explanations and information to questions
What do you dislike about the product?
Support sometimes doesn't answer questions accurately, also there has been times when certain features that were mentioned during sales aren't fully functional.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to patch SLES Linux, as well as other linux distros, Windows, and ability to manage patch cycles and get documentation on patching easily.
