Love the Persistance
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Absolute is resillant, it installs even when a computer is wiped! It helps viewing data on all my endpoints in a unified place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more resources and training informaiton on how to utilize Absolute to it's full potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Absolute is helping us locate missing and stolen laptops and devices

What do you like best about the product?
If I had to choose 1 feature, I would pick Application Persistence for applications we use like VMWare Carbon Black and Microsoft BitLocker; since we use both of those apps for our web security and drive encryption, respectively, having Absolute there to keep our systems, users and their data, secure is comforting. Also, the Geolocation services partnered with their advanced reporting features that allow us to know when a device has left the city/state/country and give us a notification and report is crucial to our inventory allocation processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have any issues with Absolute Secure Endpoint. If I had to pick 1 thing, I guess it would be the "a la carte" pricing on our device licenses. If Absolute offered a domain pricing option, I think our administrators would feel better about the funds spent on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With our school district moving to a more "1-to-1" device platform for our student devices, it is essential to tracking, locating, and managing all of our licensed devices.

What do you like best about the product?
The availability of resources and materials to reference when setting up or making changes to your Absolute environment. Very easy to find the material and the material is actually helpful with very easy-to-follow steps including some pictures for reference.
The onboarding process was great, you have someone who is an expert on Absolute and they help you set up your environment and walk you through the most common use cases and pieces that Absolute can offer you.
The actual product itself, I've never found anything that comes close to this product. My absolute favorite features are freezing/unfreezing devices, wiping the OS remotely on a known stolen device, and the ease of reporting a device stolen plus the fact that a special investigation team helps in finding that stolen asset.

There is so much you can do with Absolute, it sometimes can be a little overwhelming when you are first starting to build out your environment on your own after the onboarding process

Gives our IT group/company piece of mind that if a device gets stolen or goes missing we can either free or wipe it remotely. Plus the potential of getting that stolen asset returned to us with the help of the investigation team is also a great benefit.

We use it to geolocate and track hardware. It does the job and does it well. We also like the services offered around recovery.

The UI could use the tiniest tweak here and there, but that could also be personal preference.

Absolute (Previously Syxsense) for Business
What do you like best about the product?
As this product has aged it has only gotten better. The functionality and features have improved and they consistently solicit user feedback for their roadmap going forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the very large feature set, it is starting to encroach on some of the other softwares we have purchased. We have had to migrate processes from other platforms to this one -- and although not a bad thing it is time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syxsense allows our company to maintain tabs on all end-user devices. We can view high-level statistics and necessary patches and apply them in real-time to be pushed out. This allows us to more easily diagnose and resolve various issues remotely.

the ability to set auto run for update and installation of patches in real time

For the few times I have used Sysense, I have no dislike about it.

Syxsense is helping to install automatic updates as they are released so one would not miss the update.

Find it and freeze it!
What do you like best about the product?
The geolocation tracking component of Absolute is great. Very accurate and keeps a history of where the device has been. Since laptops tend to grow feet and walk away, it's been helpful to keep track where the equipment is at all times. And when needed, we can freeze or wipe the device should anything happen with the employee or device itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm currently using a software deployment tool called Immy to help push our Absolute to devices. Immy is capable of verifying that the deployed software (Adobe Reader, Zoom, etc.) has been installed successfully. But Absolute is a silent agent ... it doesn't show up in Windows at all, not in the programs list, the registry, etc. So Immy can't truly tell if it was successful or not. The only ways to tell if it worked is if you log into the Absolute portal and the device shows up there. There has been a few times the device has NOT showed up in the portal so that's been fun to troubleshooting. Absolute does have a tool you can run on the device itself to run some CLI commands but I've had mixed results with it. Not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't have a way to track laptops or wipe them remotely. We talked about MDM solutions but the tracking on them were very weak and in lots of cases, someone can bypass the MDM solution by just simply reinstalling Windows or swapping out the hard drive. With Absolute, it ties into the BIOS so if they replace the hard drive or reinstall Windows, Absolute will reinstall itself (self-heal) and I'll still have access to it from the Absolute portal.

What do you like best about the product?
One of the things that really sets Absolute Secure Endpoint apart is their commitment to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to cybersecurity threats. They're always on top of the latest threats and vulnerabilities, and their software is constantly updated to provide the best possible protection. Another thing that I appreciate about Absolute Secure Endpoint is their customer service. Whenever I've had a question or concern, their support team has been quick to respond and extremely helpful. They really go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy and satisfied. Overall, I would highly recommend Absolute Secure Endpoint to anyone looking for top notch endpoint security software. Their products are excellent, their customer service is outstanding, and they truly care about the security of their customers' endpoints.
What do you dislike about the product?
Firstly, while their customer service is generally very good, there were a few instances where I felt like I was getting a generic response rather than a personalized solution to my problem. It would be great to see more effort put into tailoring support to the sepcific needs of each customer. Secondly, I found the interface of their software to be a bit cluttered and diffcult to navigate at times. Simplifying the interface and making it more user-friendly would make the experience of using their software even better. Lastly, I think there is a room for improvement in terms of the reporting and analytics capabilities of their software. While the data provided is useful, it would be great to have more in-depth analysis and insights to better understand endpoint security trends and vulnerabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that ASE is resolving for us is a list of device/web application usage and geolocation/geofencing that helps us identify our assets. Especially resolves our issue with users being WFH. With having the ability to device freeze/wipe comes very handy when users do not tend to return devices or if users are terminated and not at the office. The application persistence has resolve our problem of ensuring our applications are installed on our endpoints and if not it would automatically install those applications for us.
