Great training tool!

  • May 26, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
The SMEs actually seem to be subject matter experts. I like how straight forward they are without a lot of false banter. The courses are in bite sized chunks that are easy to plan around.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hands on lab system is not intuitive. You have to back out of the labs and back in to move on to the next module. I'd also like some more memory tools for exams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm looking at updating my skills and getting certifications. Cybrary in comparison to their competitors seems to be better value for the quality of courses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would compare ITPro.tv and Cybrary to see which style of instruction you prefer.

An excellent cybersecurity learning platfrom and resource center for gaining new skills

  • April 18, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
The best aspect of the platform is the learning content is free and high quality. The platform aligns individuals with the needed training and practice to get an entry-level job. I regularly log in and take a course and complete a lab exercise. I assign courses and micros classes to my networking and software engineers to enhance their skills. I can use the platform to validate their learning and direct them to apply their learning in the real world. The added benefit of using this type of platform is that there is always new and evolving content.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one aspect of Cybrary that I do not like is the type of content. Most of the content is tailored to concepts and practical lessons. A great value adds would be courses that a tech stack specific. Such as securing Windows servers and Linux Servers. Another technical aspect that is disappointing is the video player. The player works well but I am unable to save my viewing history in the video so I can quickly return to a specific point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the problem of cybersecurity skill gap with my employees and teams. I released that there is a way to gradually increase the skills of my team without a large investment. My purchase of licenses for the extended lab saves me training and curriculum creation time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend determining what skills your organization/team/business needs. Cybrary is a platform for gaining practical skills and taking exams. If more managerial or leadership skills are needed, then cybrary may or may not help you. I would also check if your team needs industry certifications. If so Cybrary is a great platform for self-study and practice exams.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked that it was free and some of the instructors are fairly known in the InfoSec community.

Some of the content and classes are a little boring and not as hands-on as I'd like. Some are great. Just kinda depends.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pluralsight is very impressive and good. I like Cybrary better than Udemy, but the caliber of Pluralsight authors and content, assessments and IQ... I don't see any other offering doing that.

Good coverage of the topics but need to have supplemental information

  • May 17, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are explanations of career paths, virtual labs, practice tests, and quick guides. Each feature doesn't limit Cybrary into a specific demogrphic or market need but is pretty expansive in the way you can use their services. They seem to be coming out with new ways to ingest their information and the content is engaging (graphically engaging if nothing else). They recently updated their front end GUI which looks really great, very intuitive, and appealing to a younger audience. The older version was quite clunky and boxy. Presentation is important, especially if the main purpose of this site is to educate users / break down complex ideas into simple and digestible pieces. The pricing is reasonable to expensive, I wouldn't say that anything is "cheap" but there is value in the lower cost courses. I haven't tried the more expensive ones but they look to be a big investment. So unless you're going to use Cybrary specifically for those really expensive courses, then I'd be cautious about selecting among the paid courses / features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price and the depth of content (sometimes). For the most part, an overview is good enough for me but sometimes I need to really understand a topic and it's contingencies / dependencies / relations to other topics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Engaging content for topics that are directly relevant to advancing my career.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize the free resources and make sure you look for other places to supplement knowledge when Cybrary doesn't cover it in adequate depth. I keep one window open of Cybrary and another window to google subjects and get more context.
