SimpleLegal: A Trusted Vendor to Partner with for Managing Matters and Legal Spend

What do you like best about the product?
SimpleLegal is a very effective platform for managing a large number of legal entities with complex cost center codes for a global enterprise such as ours who partner with international vendors and outside counsel.
What do you dislike about the product?
Challenges occur when you can only view ten drop-down options at a time to select from for a large number of company codes and allocations. I would like to see programming improvements to allow more than one rule to run when auto-rejecting invoices, which leads to frustration and confusion on behalf of our vendors before a human has the opportunity to review an invoice for additional rejection criteria.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficient matter budget management, the flexibility to add multiple offices/divisions/legal entities, ease of reviewing invoices promptly, effective timekeeper rate management, efficient vendor management, dependable approval workflow that can easily be altered either temporarily or permanently, the ability to link related matters to a parent matter, the ease of adding CounselGO user interface, and the ability to grant, restrict, or restore administrative user credentials.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product provides a dependable solution for managing legal matters, assigning approvers to legal invoices, and managing case budgets.

Resolution take more time than expected by me
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Invoices payment status, automatic accrual notification to vendors, Invoice reporting, Vendor status and their accrual follow ups etc.

Easy to use platform and Great customer support

What do you like best about the product?
Great UX/UI . The platform is very user-friendly. Very easy to find what we are looking for, using hyperlinks to navigate from invoices, vendors, matters etc. Love that we can update PO's and Matters once a vendor has submitted an invoice. The Admin of the software is also easy to do (adding users, defining approval levels etc.)
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to be able to update invoice details once uploaded in case of mistake (invoice number, date or amount for example)
Would also like to be able to migrate invoices from one vendor to another instead of rejecting (for example vendor having many divisions such as S.A.S or LLP and they have uploaded to the wrong client).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to follow where the invoices are in the approval process. Being able to see PO balances at a glance. Being able to update PO amounts or move invoices to different PO's or matters.

What do you like best about the product?
Application is easy to configure.
It is user friendly and intuitive.
Has end to end functionality for managing legal matters as well as handling legal partner costs etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have not come across any feature that I don't like in the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing legal matters, processing legal partner invoices in integration with ERP systems, integration to Snowflake for intelligence.

What do you like best about the product?
The support team is super helpful and responds quickly.

The platform is user-friendly and easy to navigate, which saves me time when I'm handling several different tasks within SL for my teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find having to be the admin to add additional CounselGo users the least helpful. I understand why it's organized this way but it would be great to have the vendors CounselGo user or billing POC be able to add teammates as well to their portal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating payments quicker. More organized and centralized, having it all in one place.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about SimpleLegal is their outstanding support. The platform is user-friendly from the vendor side and the in-house side. Whenever I've had a question, wanted to expand my functional knowledge, or experienced an issue, SimpleLegal support responds in a timely and personal manner and stays on the ticket until all my questions are answered. I also like how easy it is for me to create vendors, matters, users, rules, and reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
I look forward to simplified dashboard creation and the ability to filter results more granularly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimpleLegal reduces the amount of time spent receiving, recording, approving, and submitting invoices to nearly no time at all. Our finance team has access to the platform and the invoicing process is very smooth.

What do you like best about the product?
SimpleLegal has a clean interface and is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ad hoc reporting function is difficult to work with. The canned reports are better, but they often don't cover the info we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We especially appreciate the ability to mark up an invoice with reductions.

What do you like best about the product?
The billing portal is easily navigatable. Collecting accruals and forecasts within the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
The adhoc reporting and out of the box reports could be more robust. There is no way to edit/delete a budget request once it's with a firm.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to produce more meaningful reports. Able to pull spend and matter details to manually create a visual dashboard for my GC. Increased efficienty collecting monthly accruals and forecasts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to think ahead and organize the setup of data in a meaningful way to you to avoid additional work once the billing portal is up and running. Maintain the data so it remains accurate. Put a 'Best Practice' in place and get users to follow it. You want to avoid 'garbage in, garbage out'.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very user friendly, and there is no charge to law firms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs better contact module, more notification and alert options, better / more invoice rules OOTB, and better timekeeper rate management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to get a handle on outside counsel. We are still trying to solve issues - control spend, manage timekeepers, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always, always make sure you find something that is the right fit for your company. If you are looking for a "starter," this is a good option, but if you are already working in a mature model, you may want to look at something bigger.

What do you like best about the product?
The transparency to track the cost. Evaluate vendors billing and work in a "Live" and retroactive modes
What do you dislike about the product?
Budget reporting has a huge potential with all the data that SimpleLegal collects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Budget Management goals are easier to achieve. The API connection to Oracle makes it more efficient and provides the AP team with all transparent data. Great tool for the partnership.
